Apparently there was a drummer in the ground today on a platform underneath the screen. Couldn’t here it much, how was it in the ground?

Dreadful. The Cov fans laughed at him and the Norwich fans didnt give him any help with chants. I cant understand the atmosphere being so woeful!

It's Delia controlled atmosphere terms of agreement.

Although I wouldn't want a guy with a big drum next to me

For me Gilmore is technically gifted but mentally weak .

That game against England he was magnificent in a poor side, never really played a good game other than 2 assists to McLean & Handley.

Too small for the rough & tumble in my humble opinion.

He's taller than Messi. Not sure heights the problem.

Didn't get that impression from the Hesgoals stream. There seemed to be good support, and a good reception for the players when they applauded the crowd at the end. Any River Enders to tell us what the atmosphere was like at that end?

Since his injury, he just wasn’t as good as early promise. Tuchel said it all on selling him “we expected more”. He was not just a bad fit, he also did not play well and I do think he was worse than the majority because, other than couple of games where he played pretty well, we looked noticeably worse and particularly more fragile in midfield when he was playing.

I think height is part of the problem when you’re in that midfield role - but not just height, it’s strength that’s needed. The best small central midfielders are almost always stocky and really strong, low centre of gravity. Think of Iniesta.

If you’re an attacking player like Messi, it’s less of an issue, but even he has weight to him - look at his thighs. Gilmour was too lightweight all round for me.

That win means we're averaging 2 points per game. <magic>

True, but the crucial test comes at Burnley on Friday. What amazes me is Sargent's 5 goals and 1 assist in 6 starts. Which of us saw that coming after his two league goals in the whole of last season. OK, that was the PL, but he looks a totally different player - relaxed, composed and sharp on and off the ball. Totally different player and well worth the money we paid for him.

Add to that the improvement in Cantwell, the addition of Nunez, Sara and Hayden as well as Hernandez, Sinani and the other players coming back from loan and we now have a better squad than we had last year. Then there's the rise of Gibbs and Tomkinson coming in after Rowe and Springett to further increase the potential of the squad as a whole and there's much to feel confident about.

Watching Sargent this year has been like entering an alternative universe. The headed goals don't surprise me, but the two clinical Pukki-like finishes against Millwall I would never have imagined possible.
