I hate most of my bosses, think most people do, to be honest. Not sure if it should be different in football
Quite a few of the signings have actually said how impressed they were with plans that speakman and Harvey laid out. As you said never going to be liked by some, especially when hes making tough decisions
Couldnt agree more. See the devil is in the detail, the original post says rubs up the players, when it should have said rubs up SOME of the players. Whole different ball game. It's great we have posters that know players or staff, but with the info that can bring comes a responsibility to pass it on properly. Just my humble opinion
he never names them, then when they sign he says it was them and when they don't he doesn't post it's easy as **** this itk nonsense or his standby quote 'things change'
First time I ever got a management job I tried to be everyone's mate and I was ****e. They were all great when things were going well, but when they didn't get their own way, they just moaned like **** anyway. I quickly learned that it's impossible to please everyone so the only thing to do was to do the job right and if some people didn't like it, then tough. I think people have more respect for me as a manager and do their jobs better for me now, even if I don't get invited for as many pints with them.
A phrase my dad taught me "you can't run with the hare and the hounds" He worked his way up from the bottom in the NHS and ended up being Director of Nursing Services and Midwifery, so I would like to think he knew a bit about management. Saying that his bosses hated him, but the staff adored him as he stood up for them
Not true. I do many times. Nearly all the time away from the main board. With this player, it was a complete random chance I bumped into as I was there with a contact who knew him. Not going to lash it out there as my mate is well known. The fact he didn't sign is crap but it's literally a lottery on deadline day.
The tags don't work on here in terms of notifications. Just seen as I replied to the other lad. People know my thoughts on speakman. Won't comment any further.
We all know Speakman isn't your favourite, it was a suggestion to give him a hug and let the past go. A new positive dawn
Was meant to be a light hearted attempt to raise the mood. Doesn't read as well as if we were sitting in a pub talking
Doesn't seem to matter a damn what the players think of Speakman, they're doing a great job on the pitch and he's doing a great job off it. All the indications from what the players say are that it's a happy place to be for all concerned.
