When they're desperate for copy and they have no info from anywhere, they'll resort to anything, anywhere. It's the dna of the modern journalist in these days of media frenzy.....if they can't report the news, they'll create it.
I can see them picking up hints from places like this, I suppose, but I'd imagine that anyone with any sense would try and verify that information from more credible sources. Maybe I'm a bit idealistic about it though; in my line of work, if you can't demonstrate the provenance of your information, you're discredited.

Many of them don't have a reliable verification source...they're flying by the seat of their pants most of the time, just trying to generate interest and views. It's about volume of views, and when it's found to be empty of any credible truth, they can disappear beneath the radar.
If the modern journalistic world ever had to demonstrate the provenance of their info....as you have to do....they'd be finished...and it would be a better place for it.
The wider public demand for instant info. has created a world where truth and honesty rarely feature.
It's all about numbers of hits.

Without doubt. We were desperate for another GK but I don’t get the Bass signing. Poor.
Yeah was very odd. Even Pompey's manager was talking about interest from L1 and L2 clubs then suddenly he ends up here. Genuinely think he's maybe just been signed for training sessions (like Heaton at Man Utd, or Carson at Man City)

I don’t mind the signing at all if we bring an experienced GK in and he’s 3rd choice but I wouldn’t have too much faith if he was our sub ‘keeper.

He's was all over in the first half. He should have conceded a penalty for throwing a lad two the ground on a corner.

He also got luck he didn't catch their lad with a flying two footer down on the byline. Thankfully their lad stepped around him and went straight into the box.

Work to be done, but he'll get found out by the teams in the top 6.
Not a fan of 09 then BRMC, hard to tell from your comments:emoticon-0148-yes:

Just watching SSN and there is a lot of business going on with PL clubs, maybe that will filter down later on tonight with a few more loans or their backup players becoming available.

Journalism, like this forum, is best viewed as an entertainment rather than an information service ...

... many of the stories are created by agents, clubs and managers.

TBF if a player is being chased by half a dozen clubs only one can come off, perhaps none.
