Wrong team, wrong formation from the kick off. We lost the game in the first 15 minutes. Heard Woods didn't start because he had an injury problem, if so he was sorely missed in that first horrible 45 mins. Longman looked as though he's never played football before in his life and I thought Cannon was out of his depth too, both replaced when we already three down. Naive man management from Shota from the off. We looked wide open in midfield and QPR could have had a hat full. So a shocker all round, but that's two already this season away from home, three in you count the Peterboro friendly and we are still in August. MOTM? Slater ran his socks off trying to be a one man midfield. As for others ? Williams at least beat a man, young Smith scored a goal, and Woods tried to put his foot on the ball and pass. Don't know what Elder was doing playing as a winger either because it didn't work. A very disappointing night all round in front of a very good away following. So, Slater, Williams/Woods for the above Smith for his goal. All the rest were way below average.
Slater looked our senior player. Williams did ok Woods. Our players are miles away from each other , so its easy to close them down
Just listened to the post match interview on Humberside. Shota " I expected some leadership on the pitch". Sums it up.
Woods - Huge mistake not starting him Slater - Tetteh - Never gave up, but no support Why do we play out with short balls from the back which allows the opposition to reset and invariably gets us into trouble. Watched Liverpool v Newcastle and their keepers boom the ball into the opposing half. We have two big strong strikers in Oscar and Tetteh...long balls from the keeper are ideal for them !!!
Not that I am a fan of long balls from the keeper if we do get them to Tetteh who looks to be a great hold up man he has a good first touch and can as we have seen be creative with the balll at his feet once he has the ball down and on the ground.
