Pep is a genius. He takes teams that are mediocre and turns them into champions. He takes mediocre players and turns them into brilliant players. I mean that Haaland player. He got him on the cheap and he's made him into a brilliant player- who had even heard of him before? Seriously speaking, if a manager has unlimited funds, he should be able to succeed. Chelsea, time and again have won stuff, constantly changing managers, but what did they all have in common?
Always found tiki taka extremely irritating to watch I don’t see it as beautiful Much preferred Madrid and Liverpools way of powerful attacking play over Peps tippy tippy zzzzzzzz ****…boring
Pep has achieved what the Pellegrinis, Mancinis had already achieved still can’t win the CL because globally gets found out due to not being the best assembled team of the European pool of clubs every season. He was a failure at Bayern compared to some of the high standards set before his tenure and after it…think they won the treble a few seasons back which did include the CL. He does with City what everyone does with PSG, Celtic and Bayern…go and take the hot seat at the richest most successful club landed on his feet at Barca Not saying he’s **** but when you break it down…he’s orite
Gattusso has said today that Brian Gil is close to joining Valencia and Spurs are just waiting to complete a transfer for his replacement. He said Spurs believe the replacement is 99% done. Interestingly Zaha was left out of the Palace game yesterday despite being fit. Please get this done Don Paratici Zaha would be a superb signing. We will probably end up with Dan James.......
I have been doing a few simple multi-dimensional studies of Peps' CL prowess at both Munich and Citeh (a fraction of what I've posted here) . In all cases I have taken the "steelman" position on his failure to date. And each time the attempted explanation comes up with a contradictory position that makes Klopp look the far superior manager. Even the most basic statto "appeal to authority" (there is insufficient "source" data to derive statistically significant measures) means he does not look good at Citeh. So with all the above to hand, again I go to Ockham's razor. And the answer is : Pep is good, but nowhere near the level some adorn him with (hence why I label him "Pep the false messiah" ) .
Adding these two together makes a lot of sense. Explains why Gil and Tanganga need to move out. Homegrown quotas and all that, plus two players for each position. Zabarnyi would replace Rodon as Dier cover, Zaha would be a solid move as Son cover but I doubt very much it'll happen. Yep, I do see James coming in now that Chelsea are peeing all over the Gordon move.
Not sure if the interpretation meant Gil is 99% done or Gil’s replacement is. You could argue it essentially ties into one another either way but I’ve got a feeling Gattuso is saying the Gil loan to Valencia is 99% done, just needing us to sign it off.
Forest have completed the signing of Lodi according to Romano and he’ll be unveiled before our game today. I’d expect Reguilon to Atleti to be done by today/ tomorrow now.
Arthur Rowe was the first English manager to adopt the "push and run" regime played in Europe, was he not ?? One of his players, Bill Nicholson, I am informed went on to manager Spurs (how did he get on ?? ) . Another player, Vic Buckingham, left Spurs not long before Rowe became manager, I am informed that he went on to manage Ajax (how did he get on ?? ) .
City's DoF is Txiki Begiristain who played for Barca in the same midfield as Guardiola. He's the one who shifted City's focus to a more Spanish style and more Spanish players and coaches. Guardiola himself credits him for putting him where he is now. Gave him the managers job at Barca and then brought him in at City. Guardiola's a good manager. There's very little doubt about that. He's had it very easy throughout his career, though. On the other hand, plenty of other coaches have failed in similar positions.
Yeah I am! I’m going to try and stream the match in an hour after a day in the sun and eating and drinking way too much! All inclusive is dangerous
I've posted many times on here that Zabarnyi would be a superb signing. If we got Gil, Winks and Reguilon out and bought in Zaha and Zabarnyi that would be a fantastic transfer window.
Madrid had the chance to resign him for a set price. Tbh they probably could have got him for half the buy back fee but it’s telling they don’t fancy him. Going to a big club in Atleti so don’t blame Reguilon for going there
Could be a very good move for him, if he can learn from Simeone. I hate watching Atletico, but they're excellent defensively.
Not sure it’s that telling to be honest. They’ve got one of the best LBs in the world at the moment so it’d only make sense for them to re-sign Reguilon if they thought they could immediately flip him, which they’ve done with many other players before. Isn’t enough money in Europe at the moment for them to have done that though.
