His job is not just that. He is ok at building a youth model and approach with innovative data analysis. He should be into head of recruitment or AOL manager.

Not the person who is the ultimate power on all football matters. He simply isn't good at doing it.

I absolutely agree with that

I liked the idea of Dyche but now that I have calmed down slightly he definitely wouldn't be suitable for the direction the club want to go.

But what is that "direction"?

It's just they type of word the likes of Speakman love. Project, direction, shared values, and on and on. I could think up a hundred of them

They love them because their meaning is fluid and allows the permanent delaying of judgement.

The club is about the first team. There are multiple other pieces of the puzzle, but if they do not serve the needs of the team then they are pointless ; supporters do not cheer on the attainment of achievable milestones, or whatever other fatuous rubbish is spouted by Speakman, when he eventually pokes his head up to talk about this.

Supporters cheer the team on and everything should be moulded to that requirement. Here, the process appears to be more important than the team, and that will get us nowhere in the end.

Sorry but there is no possible way anyone would know the details of why he left yet, he hasn't even been announced stoke manager officially yet. A lot of rumour and speculation flying around at the minute. At the end of the day he didn't have to speak to stoke but he chose too.

The fact he is in such a poor contract that allows him to do so is part of the issue to be honest mate. His new one should have been sorted. It wasn't. Hence this situation.

Well the club either do the same again, and if the new man does well the same will happen.

Or they end up giving a normal contract , perhaps after it's earned, meaning they should have done that in this case.

A stupid act of self harm..

What's 'not normal' about a rolling contract?

‘The process’ has got us promoted, got us a exciting, hard working, talented squad, has taken us from fielding a team with Danny Graham starting up front to a team sat 5th in the championship. Don’t talk rubbish

Which is alarming considering Ross Stewart’s contract situation, AN should have had his new contract the same week as promotion was confirmed

I'm in the "**** them all" camp:
  • **** Neil for ****ing us over
  • **** Speakman for ****ing up his contract and taking an age over transfers
  • **** SD for hanging on like the haemorrhoid he is
  • **** Sartori for doing the square of **** all in the entire time he's been here
  • **** KLD for not committing all the way and not seizing the moment. He'll be off the moment he gains from it, just the same as all the others
****. Them. All.

What's 'not normal' about a rolling contract?

How many managers are there operating on one, after the type of effect that Neill has had?

It's not just a rolling contract either, its one that freely gives him the choice to talk to any club at anytime. They clearly do not value him at all, or they would not have offered such terms.

If that's normal......

You’re right. But Just wished the window wasn’t open if Stewart were to go on the back of this a lot of good work will have been undone
I can accept the manager leaving - he has a clause in his contract that the club can do nothing about (apart from giving him a new ****ing contract but let's not go there) but if they are going to sell out prized asset then there will be ****ing hell on

It is staggering. Speakman is way out of his depth, and we'll be going nowhere even near to where we might go while that chancer is here

This is non negotiable. This is how we operate, don't come if you don't like it.

As for the next man, lets not be daft and go and get an old school manager who wants control. Dyche will be heavily linked but he's a non starter.
Yeah I don’t get that. When he took the job, he would’ve known the transfer policy. To use that as a reason to go seems like an excuse.

Asking for 4 years as well. I like the bloke, but doesn’t 4 years seem to be a long contract to ask for?

You dont know then?

Very possibly he wanted a higher wage, regardless of the rolling part.

And he might have insisted on the clause, who knows.

And can I just say, this reply would have been unreadable without auto correct, fat fingered friday for me!

Success on the pitch has masked this shortcomings off it.
His job is to get us good on the pitch, and I think he is doing that. Yeah he doesn’t come across great but I’m not having people lie for no reason

Jesus. Moving fast. Might even be announced tonight.
Prehab26 I think this contract was based around get us promoted and we won't stand in your way to move closer to your family. That would sell it to his wife. He said he would not normally have looked at a league 1 club. He worked his balls off researching teams pushing for promotion. If a new manager is appointed quickly then I think we have the answer.
