I agree. But they could. And they could in theory dangle that to tempt. the fact Mag pals are blowing up my phone just reiterates we have the right man and need to keep him.
If every other context "someone who knows nothing about the situation and doesn't follow it told me this" is hardly a credible source, why is it different for football?
Think there may be some posturing on both sides here - Neil playing for a new deal, Speakman/KLD seeing who will blink first when they know we are the biggest club in league
Plenty of owners in world football could make that false promise, and AN would have to be a moron to believe it.
Not good that it's even got to this stage, shouldn't be messing club about like this. Whether it's AN side or club I don't know. Got to think he's away else it'd be dead already. I know you said a surprise but come on @Prehab26 this is a bit OTT
When did FFP stop anything? It’s about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. But as lads have said previous, they’ve never shown any intent to go all in.
The timing of it all stinks, big game tomorrow and on national television, the club and AN could and should have kept this under wraps until after tomorrows game. All the focus will be on the manager now.
But it is more than a bit odd. They clearly dont get on very well - We just got promoted and they cant even look at each other.
It’s 1 second of footage capturing 2 people amongst the chaos of a trophy lift. Pause any video of anyone ever and you can find them grimacing when they should be happy or smiling when they should be crying.
We all know what the solution is, offer the bloke a decent contract and we move forward. Nobody can blame him for doing this, if that’s what he has done. We’re all human at the end of the day, we all go to work for a living and have families to provide for. Why would someone not try and get the same pay/contract length that someone else was offering them?
