Chelsea are going to have to shift a lot of players quickly for financial and squad size reasons
I wonder where Broja lands this window

Connected - what would people think of the (highly unlikely) scenario of Adams leaving and Ramos and Broja coming in (latter presumably on loan)?

I think there is close to zero chance we bring Broja back in, after Ralph was so public ally critical of him at the forum

Apparently we’ve made contact with Chelsea over Chalobah.

That would be an incredible signing

spurs and inter the ones leading the gossip pages for him.
Hope we have left a back three behind, so will be surprised if we do get someone of his calibre as our likely signing would start 3rd choice

I worry this will allow Everton to buy Ramos or Adams

It stinks to high heaven, this transfer. Its almost a bailout and there should be a real examination. Big Frank's connections to Chelsea, Everton in the **** financially and paying quadruple what the player is worth. Guess how many points everton get off chelsea this season?

Instant reaction is hmm, that sounds good. Pondered reaction is an unknown quantity and a patchy player replacing a solid reliable forward is not that good of an idea.

Maybe. Just feels weird to mention a not good pre-season and saying ‘why not’ when asked if we want to keep him.

Hopefully just one of those things that sounds different live.

I agree, it feels weird. Whether Ralph likes it or not he is our talisman striker right now. Should be praising him to high heaven and praying he stays

The “why not” definitely seems like an answer a non native speaker would give to that question

The pre season might have been worth mentioning because of the inevitable “why didn’t he start the first game” questions that probably would have come if he had done exactly what has been suggested and lavished massive amounts of praise on him

Agreed - I would also like to hear how it was said as it can easily be mis-interested in print media.

I am assuming Ralph meant "why would we sell our best striker?" - essentially praising him by questioning the mere suggestion we would entertain any bids.

If he was on the verge of leaving, or even remotely close to leaving, I just don’t understand the logic in him playing tonight. Risk of injury and being cup tied (assuming he was going to an English side) would be enough for him to surely not be involved at all if he was about to leave.

Indicates to me at least that we aren’t planning on selling him, of course something may happen in the next 7 days that changes that, but right now seems like he’s staying

It would also be good to see his face when he was asked the question. As it might well be that he had a look of utter bewilderment on his face when asked . We don’t know

The “not planning on selling” is probably key here. If a silly bid comes in from someone flush with cash then it still might happen. But I doubt it would be for the “bargain 15m” that all the Leeds and Everton journalists were touting.

Every player has a price after all.
