Absolutely brilliant result today. Tough place to go. Dreading a bid for Ross Stewart before deadline day.
I think we’ll be fine in this window, but if he keeps scoring there will be a lower level PL team willing to throw money at us come January if they are in a relegation battle

I nar ya joking mate but our performances so far( even in defeat) have showed me the play offs should be our aim now, not consolidation. We do need more bodies in though or we’ll come unstuck.
Great win yesterday but I didn’t get to see it.

Getting to the play offs and not reaching wembley would not be a disaster, but going up would imo need virtually a complete new team. And that would cost big big bucks. So no not this season, let us build gradually.

I’m not expecting promotion but if we did go up I’d take it even with the struggles it entails. We’re getting new footbridges man, **** Championship football. :emoticon-0105-wink:

3rd season up for me, but probably prefer never to be honest, I suppose the novelty would wear of though.

I did not predict before the season where we would end up in the league. What I wanted was to be a solid mid-table.

I still think despite some great performances, especially away, that mid-table would be fine.

However let's see where we are after a dozen games and the transfer window is closed. Cos I reckon we are still short of 3 or 4 quality players to have a sustainable attack on the upper reaches of the division.

Our strike force of SAS, Clarke and Pritchard are potent, but there is scant cover.
Midfield and defence need players in.

Patterson is a decent shot stopper and is becoming less of a daffodil as games go by. Which is good news, from some highlights he kept us in the game 1st half yesterday.

Strangely, I'm quite pleased with Stewart's miss when he went past the keeper ...

... it shows he's either still really learning the game or isn't a natural finisher so we may keep him another year or two.

His first touch was too heavy, too clumsy ... he rushed the chance and didn't look like scoring.

If not for the other goal it would've been the big talking point imo.

It's been a brilliant last 4 or 5 months following this team as it grows.

Great start to the season.

Absolutely mate, exactly how I feel.

Sadly there are some who've spent all that time finding endless things to moan about and missed out on the fun. Every signing has been suspect and every player we've failed to sign has been a 'missed opportunity'. Players like Pritchard, Evans, Clarke, etc, written off as useless.

Thankfully even the most cynical 'experts' are realising the club is doing a decent job in difficult circumstances.

Can't wait for the next game <cheers>

Stoke fans saying we remind them of Don Revie's Leeds but without the skill :emoticon-0102-bigsm
