It's very very early doors of the season and as we all know, anything can happen, however, imo this season was always about staying in the leauge without a struggle. Alex Neil said it was only half job done after the play off final so it's clear he had other things in mind for the season and I hope he achieves his goals. But perhaps he thought we'd be signing players that we could try and push on with? As it stands, the club looks to be focusing on maintaining Championship status judging on the youth players we have signed and the retained list from last season. Naturally things like throwing away 3 points at the weekend, Keeper scoring, Red card after half an hour tonight are going to piss people off, but it's very very clear knowone really knows what the owners intentions are, we shall have to wait and see.

The kid is getting better with every game, he’s the least of our worries
Totally agree mate, but he’s gonna cost us unless he commands his six (or imaginary 9yd box).
Shot stopping near the end was awesome, but cowering on your line, doing the Hokey Cokey, will only breed uncertainty, and that is gonna be embarrassing at times. One for the future, and thanks for saving one with your knackers at Wembley x

The page slating Dan Neil is ****ing minging mind, have a word with yourselves.

He was brilliant on Saturday and excellent in the opening half hour tonight. People say he couldn't do the physical side, hes shown he can do exactly that. Mixed it up again against experienced Championship midfielders and didn't look out of place.

He makes a mistake, like me, you and everyone else has in our lives. The first touch is uncharacteristically poor and it bounces up off his standing leg, he panics and attempts to re-adjust but his balance is off and their lad pinches in. Its the slightest pull on the shirt and of course their lad goes down knowing the outcome.

He'll learn from it, no use writing a player off for a mistake.

I don't think AN is blameless for the result tonight.

Away from home against a much better side and he plays 3 attacking midfielders in the centre of the park. 09 at CB when you need a holding mid and have 2 CBs on the bench.

Battling performance, but still a few issues with the squad/ lineup & formation for me.
There wasn't much wrong with the line up till we went down to 10 men, we were the better team

<laugh> Class in L1 mind. Not good enough in the championship…

If only we had a striker that was class in league 1! <laugh><laugh><laugh>

We might need another striker or two in at time to back up Stewart but if you read the post about getting Clarke Harris in you would think we had Will Grigg up front with no options. Stewart is an excellent striker and we are far from doomed in that department while he is fit!

i went to look for a page slagging him off, thought you meant a thread but cant see it.

aye, he cocked up and hopefully will learn from it, but in that position you take the easy pass or hoof the fecker into row Z, just clear your lines and don't try a fancy turn and that is that i have honestly not seen anyone slagging him off but ffs the lad is not the first and he certainly wont be the last...we move on.

i can't really agree that he was excellent before he went off, he made a couple of other bad touches and his passing was not as sharp as usual but so what, again he is not the first nor will he be the last, next game he could be MotM, it's football.

This is getting like RTG, we need to get a grip.
AN will get 2 in at least before it closes, so let's just chill and watch this space.
Will 2 be enough Bob lad? We are a decent team, but we’ve already got 3 injuries, Winchester, Ballard and Evans and a couple of others that haven’t got the experience. That table posted earlier in he thread is spot on

Think we need another 4 or 5 ideally but it’s not panic stations yet what we have would stay up imo but we need to aim higher than survival

As it stands - without Ballard - we are only one player better as a starting 11 than the end of last season in Simms (when of course we were very good). I think that gets us lower mid table ish with good fortune on injuries which we haven’t had already - not an exact science of course. We need more first team players that strengthen us. The Costa Rican at this point probably isn’t one of them. I’d be happy with 3. Keeper, centre mid and another forward. Probably a centre back though I like 09 there. Other clubs this week in this division have signed the quality we need.
