Haven't watched much of Watford, but from his stats it doesn't look like he'll add much goal threat... What is positive though is how highly regarded he is amongst Watford fans. None of them seem happy about the thought of losing him, even for £25m. Unlike when we signed Chris Wood, when even Burnley fans were shocked at what we were paying.
That's terrible business for Everton. Shocking. He cost them a reported £40m, plus his wages, to mostly sit on the bench, then they are prepared to loan him out. OK so the transfer fee included some performance/appearance related clauses, so likely won't cost the full £40m, but even stilp, that is some truly embarrassing negotiation on Everton's part.
This is why our owners are being meticulous about the deals because it can go horribly wrong. Having said that I think everyone knew that one was going to go tits up.
