That rolling contract has been a big worry I thought we might of had one if not 2 through the door this week we can’t afford the rot to set in
If he is still on a one year rolling deal he could leave anytime really. He is barely over forty, has a lot of life to supoort, and if some club comes up with say, a three or four year deal on similar or better money, he would be daft not to take it. This is not far fetched either IMO. Clearly, such an offer might come from a club with lesser crowds and all the rest. But it might come with more money and certainty. I doubt he would have asked for a one-year deal.
He's taking his time to show it. He is no better than when he emerged six or so years ago. Quite a list of good managers have lost patience with him. Possibly They are not all wrong. PSG would suit him. Show ponies all over the pitch.
He might easily have been in £30k a week in the first place. Everton pay high wages, and they will probably have young lads who none of us have heard of who are on over £10k a week and who haven't played any first team football. Very typical in the prem. Just the way it is.
I get your point but if the thread was limited to only posting when Sunderland sign a player it'd be dead. It's not like we'll sign someone and it'll be missed because people are chatting about other things.
I think our recruitment recently has been excellent and with still another couple of weeks to go in the window,I'm sure we'll bring in what we need. With the cards being played so close these days,it's easy for us to get frustrated and think nothing's going on....it won't be the case. I'm also sure that Alex Neil looks happy with the progress he's made here so far and there will be a permanent longer term contract up for discussion with him at some point in the near future.
I do think that's their plan, he is still young another season on loan with wigan might show what he is about
