At those odds you could play the same bet each game and still almost break even if he only scores once a season. Mind you, you would have lost it all last year. I have no real idea about betting. How does it work if he scores in the 93rd minute? Is that still counted as within the 90?

It is counted. It's only when a cup game goes into official ET that it would not count.

Also, we’ll see won’t we? If Elder plays today and we lose due to not getting in their half of the pitch often enough, then that will back the theory up. Or if we play Allahyar there again, and we look a proper threat going forward and draw/win.

If we win/draw (creating a decent amount of chances) with Elder on the left, then we can all relax and know we can play either!

I think it should be looked at game by game. Today our LWB will be likely against Potts, who's not meant to pose much attacking threat so it doesn't make sense to go 'safe'. Sykes last week was a much tricker customer test defensively. I might be wrong but I'd sure it was Sykes who gave Elder kittens when we played Oxford in L1.
