I dunno, I tend to pay more attention to league level accomplishments because adding other comps can be misleading... I don't consider a hatrick against Fleetwood united in the 3rd round of the league cup very impressive, and certain players will have more games besides the league itself, so it's not always a fair comparison. But if we just count the league, then it's all fair because everyone has the same opportunities.
He got 12 in the league, which is an excellent return for a midfielder. 4 more were in Europe, and another 2 in the FA/league cups.
He's having to buffer the clubs finances up to ensure his compensation is there when its required later this year.
I said people, not you. Maddison ain't £70m+, they've said theyll accept £55m and probably £50m will get him.
50m would be worth it for maddison. Seems we've given up on really finding a top striker and we'll put more faith in our midfield to score. Fair enough really.
I don't like him, he's a cheat but if fistbumps puts a leg out he's gonna dive over it for a penalty.
Worked for City last season, De Bruyne, Silva, Gundogan, Foden etc. Bruno, Willock, Joey and ASM have all got goals in them, Maddison even more so.
We have to meet a single clubs estimation for a player, if we aren't going to match 50m for Maddison, who the hell are we going to buy? At the end of the day, Leicester CAN make a case he is worth considerably more considering the Grealish price tag. If we refuse 50m and a chance to prove we are the real deal, I honestly have no clue what our objective is this window. Exist?
I think they'll sell at £50m, considering I heard they wanted £55m. Its only top teams that generally pay the big fees, and Maddison isn't going to one of them. The other side of the Grealish argument is Grealish clearly isnt worth £100m, in the same way £97m for Lukaku now seems a ludicrous price.
