See my earlier comment on the Championship thread. Jacks to stop taking the knee.

However, with our recent influx of black/players of colour it may be insensitive for us to drop it now.

Rumoured on social media that Nathan Blake has allegedly suggested Andy Carroll is being looked at on a pay by play deal.

If true then he’s not costing a fee as he’s a free agent so there’s another striker Morison is looking at for a fee or on loan.

Ok Carroll may have some qualities but he’s an impact player at best now off the bench and not going to do any pressing.

With you cling.
He'd give us something different, but doesn't fit the model Morison has designed.
Dwight Gayle would have been a better fit.
Think I'd prefer a pacey youngster to play off the shoulder.
Unless someone to bring in the midfield is seen as an option.
Yep. Carroll would give us something different to the current squad but something alarmingly familiar to recent dark days.
The type of striker you describe would be better provided he adds something. I know there's an argument that having a striker gives defences something to worry about but not knowing where to expect the goals to come from gives them a bigger worry?
Anyway, definitely not Carroll for me.

Today wasn’t the game to see if our current strikers are good enough to put away chances as they didn’t get any but what today showed is that neither of them appear to be good at holding up the ball, distributing it and playing off the ball.

Stating all that, Morison has no option but to persevere with them until or unless he gets in alternatives. If he does then either may go out on loan. Isaac Davies is a better option to Harris IMO.

Id take Andy Carroll. Far from just a big lump.

I was laughing more at Dwight Gayle in the same sentence.
Much lost in interpretation <laugh>.

My fear with Carroll would be the temptation to go back to bad habits. I also don't think he's anywhere as near as mobile as he used to be. Last time I saw him play, a big lump would have been a perfect description
He and Gayle might have been reasonable options three seasons ago but I fear they're running down the clock on their effectiveness.

Been a couple 'headlines' with no content.
Think it'll be like most of the other signings. It'll just happen.
From what we've seen in pre-season and on Saturday, Morison and the recruitment team seem to have an eye for a player.
Very few of the signings have been known quantities. Hardly household names.
Maybe one or two to come?
The signings so far came in on a vision. Any new signings get an early view of the product.
