It was never a pen, but you'll take them! Think we were lucky that they didn't get the decision of a penalty from the corner a few mins later too. Saying that, if we want to make an impression on the league this year, then you need to win your home games. And we did

There were half a dozen great balls to Coyle in the final third, but he wasted the majority of them. Having said that, he put a good shift in. He didn't look great, but he grafted.

There were a lot of very good long balls played to Coyle today and I thought he had a decent game overall, but it is a bit frustrating that he knocks the ball backwards every single time.

I think you might be! Never a pen, all the Sky Sports team couldn't believe it was given. That and a wicked deflection = a lucky win. Don't think you'll get too many more this season. Enjoy it!
If we won't then Bristol are going down. You were outplayed most of the match and should have hit the ground running given the squad stability.

We are a team, mid transition. We were there for the taking but Bristol just weren't good enough.

Am I the only one who thought it was a definite penalty? Went down a little late but definitely caught his ankle.

The reaction of Burnsy and the Bristol fans implies it was a complete dive?

Anyway, great performance, great atmosphere and a deserved first win.
No you're not the only one. And to that comboin aaaaavester shagger who commented. If we hadn't beaten you I'd have been concerned as on that evidence it was one of our easier games we'll have this season. You look like you'll struggle big time especially if the officials cotton onto your ****housery

A hard earned result with CIty showing lots of grit - I do think they were generally a bit too slow when playing it out from the back and when they did speed it up a bit they were much more threatening. I'm a big fan of Greaves and Jones but it does grind my gears when the opposition drop off them and leave space for them to move forwards but, instead of pressing on, they look square or back towards the keeper. Clearly this is sometimes the best option but perhaps team performances would benefit from a more positive approach at times.
Overall though I thought the attitude and effort from the whole team deserved the three points - good performance.

He did a decent job today but realistically that’s the best you’re going to get from him for me.

Having scrutinized the game in every detail, every touch, every tactic, every decision, every substitution, I have come to one major conclusion: black socks look so much better than amber ones.

Every one of our kits this season has a classy appearance. Stripes, black shorts and socks looks so much better than anything else we’ve had in the last 10 years.

I don’t know how any Bristol City fan can come away from that game feeling hard done by due to the officials. They time-wasted all game and got away with one clear pen in the first half. Some of the worst gamesmanship I’ve seen at the MKM for a while.
