From tomorrow it’s going to drop to around 35 apparently, too hot to lie in it, the wife loves the sun and she’s struggling with the heat. That’s what the pool and beers are for though<cheers>
That's good to hear, hopefully it drops a little more when we get there on 17th August. 40 sounds uncomfortably hot. 32-35 will do me.

Anyone looking forward to showing the Spanish authorities proof of funds for their trip?

Wonder if they send anyone home this summer?

As far as I know it’s another load of bollocks just put out to worry people, apparently not a single holiday maker has been asked to do this, it’s just the remoaners still living in the past.

It wouldn't be a good move if true, there's plenty of other places to holiday and it would be a case of them shooting themselves in both feet if they were pushing this kind of bollocks to punish us for leaving the EU.

I don’t believe they are pushing anything, it’s something that has always been available to use if you aren’t in the EU, they just never use it, more scaremongering.

Was due to fly to India this morning.. got an email from Lufthansa yesterday morning saying flights were cancelled due to strikes in Germany.

No way of getting in touch with the airline. Eventually got offered (via their chat bot) a choice of 20 alternative flights. Ranged in duration from 36 to 72 hours (our original was 13), but all were classed as 'waiting list only.'

Managed to pay for a flight on a different airline ourselves, but the single fare is double the price of the original return, heading our tomorrow.

Any ideas on the likelihood of getting them to pay for the replacement flights?

Ohhhhhh yes you can get your money back when they want to give you it no problems
However to re book it is always nearly double
Booking early was supposed to get a good deal not no more it’s not

Any tips? I don't want a refund, I want them to reimburse my rearranged flight.

Between me and the missus, we've called them over 50 times, emailed, sent DMs on Twitter and used their online chat, but still not got any advice from them....

They should give you what you payed back
However it will take a few days to go back into your bank
I’ve had this problem before
Because there have offered you an alternative
they could become awkward you may have to get your credit card bank involved I hope it’s easy for you to get your refund
The most important thing to come out of this is
Even with a full refund it is going to cost you more
Not fair realy is it
Good luck and enjoy India

@LBW , cabana any good mate or am I in bother with your missus?
Class mate, had a great day, good shout!
Recommend a night in Dudan it’s about 10 mins in a taxi from Lara so not much further from Belek, there’s a few nice bars and it’s right on the beach, The Royal Castle is a cracking place, decent food & drinks at reasonable prices.

That’s the place, we went about 7pm for a stroll, food & drinks, really enjoyed it. Some of the bars have no prices on the drinks so be careful, we made sure we asked before ordering. FYI a bottle of Corona is around 5€ in the bars !

There are a few areas along Lara beach where the turtles have laid their eggs, they are protected with a wooden cage, supposed to be easy to see but I haven’t seen one yet. A hotel further down from Titanic apparently has a regular visit from the same turtle, think it’s called Wyndham Lara or similar

Anybody staying closer to home in Scarborough, were staying in a cottage at Scalby village and had Sunday Lunch at the Foulsyke Bistro, Scalby which was the best Sunday Lunch I've ever had £15 one course, it was tremendous. You don't need a second course.
It's only a small place so booking is recommended.
Been to the Magpie in Whitby today for the traditional fish and chips, brilliant.
Just a couple of ideas for those staying fairly local.
