Listening to AN, he does seem to be concerned about the numbers we have recruited... He needs to be supported, this guy is the best we've had in years, but even the best can only do so much with certain squads... we need an injection of quality...and quick

We're not doing too badly. Getting Roberts and Clarke, Ballard, Alese and the goalie, has definately improved the squad. If we confirm Ellis Simms today, that's another very decent signing who fits our profile and in an important position where we were really lacking.Gives LND some serious competition.
Not sure where it leaves the Broadhead deal, but a holding midfield player and a full back....depending on Huggins....should be enough, and the window has another 4 weeks yet.

I think some are panicking a bit too much.

Folk can say a lot of this squad was the League One squad but I said it continually last season, a large chunk of the squad is better suited to the Championship, and that’s why we’ve retained so many.

    We will be alreet.

Agree. AN has experience and would not have wanted the likes of Clarke and Roberts if he didn't think they would be able to step up a level.
Most of these players will be able to adapt to the challenge. I do have reservations about one or two,but we'll see. It's a different league, faster, more skill, less ****housery, the latter of which we never coped well with anyhow.:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Those 2 are surely good enough to grow all the way to PL, they find consistency they are 2 of the best players in the league.

Add Pritch to that, Ballard is semi proven given last season, Neil is absolutely more suited to the less physical league. I think we in good shape.

We absolutely need additions but the season is starting, not ending.

Just got round to listening to Neil. Was pleased to him say we needed 4/5 still but it was also about following our sustainability model. It is what I was referring to on Saturday evening, it's just a case of being patient. However, I do see the need to get bodies in soon as again, Neil mentioned momentum and it's importance.

We should get an additional body confirmed today though. Maybe squeeze another in before Sunday.

Do you think he sounded genuinely concerned? I think he knows we need bodies in, but he also knows how the market works and likely we won't get the remainder of our business done until the PL clubs have sorted their squads. Lots can and will happen between now and end of Aug

He always speaks well. It's why he is respected from all. Unlike the previous manager who just increased hostility at any opportunity whilst stroking his own ego.
