Everton striker Nathan Broadhead talks with Sunderland at an impasse
Nathan Broadhead may have to look elsewhere for his Everton exit as talks with Sunderland have now reached an impasse, according to the Northern Echo.
The 24-year-old spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan from Merseyside at the Stadium of Light where he bounced back from injury to find form late in the season to help the Black Cats to promotion from League One.
His 13 goals in 27 games were key to their success and the now Championship outfit are keen to bring the Welshman back to the North East.
But with talks between the two clubs now seemingly hitting a dead-end, there is a possibility that Sunderland will turn their attention away from Broadhead and to one of his Everton teammates Ellis Simms, but Frank Lampard is not yet sure whether to loan him out again after a period at Hearts last season.
Whatever Kevin Thelwell’s tactics are in these particular negotiations he needs to go back on himself and just accept the price Sunderland are willing to pay.
At 24 years of age, Broadhead is not going to ever be good enough to play for the first team at Goodison Park or else he would already be in amongst the squad rather than being loaned out to League One.
In Simms and fellow academy starlet Lewis Dobbin, Lampard should have no worries about talented young strikers coming through the ranks at Finch Farm and Broadhead has now missed his chance to be that.
Lampard does not need dead weight being carried around at a critical period in the football club’s history so if the Black Cats are keen to take him to Wearside, then Everton would be fools not to allow them to do so.
There are bigger fish to fry at this time so if he wants to go, let him.

yeah seem to be picked it up from Scott Wilson hopefully Wilson talking bollocks again not be first time he has
all rumours/reports about broadhead say he really wants to be at this club...if he really wants to be here then he he knows how the club is set up now and should accept a pay offer that is (i suspect) adequate for a championship club and based on his ability and possible injury problems.
there also, at present, does not seem to be a line of clubs battling to sign him, properly managed game time/training routine may well help to reduce the injuries but any club is really taking a stab in the dark on that one, this should also be taken into consideration.

Yes i agree. At the age of 24 his main ambition and goals should be to find a permanent club that he can go to and make his mark for the first time away from U23 football and loan deals.
Wagew shouldn't really be the be all and end all right now for him
No where in that "article" did it say Broadhead was turning us down or being awkward. But Everton being unsure of what to do with him or unwilling to accept our offer.
Look at it from KLD side of things £34000 he may play 60% of our games is that value for money to a business guy, trying to rebuild the club on a sound

Well 1st off, i used to be an FA for a load of pro footballers i also sold my business to 1st Artist, i also had a finance business and sold buy to let, mortgages, high net worth value cars to pro footballers, i have loads of pals who are agents, so i do know how this **** industry works.
