I stand because I don’t like watching sat down. Not much of a goader, although a bit of banter between fans does improve the atmosphere IMHO
I wonder how many of those that prefer to sit, would still go if everyone else sat quietly too and there was a cathedral like atmosphere?
I didn't say that. When someone goes to a game, then how they spend the next 90-odd minutes is up to them
I see they sold all their 22,000 season tickets by 27th June despite a price increase following relegation meaning cheapest adult ticket is £45 a month.
Most of them I imagine. They think football should be watched as if in a theatre so would e quite happy.. Wonder if they remain seated when everyone stands up to sing in a cathedral?
Cannot recall many hymns that are an hour and a half long, although it seemed like it at school ? There have always been seats in football grounds and I do not remember those who bought seat tickets at Boothferry Park standing up in them for the duration of the game ? They bought seats because they wanted to sit down. Maybe some people cannot or do not want to stand up for 90 mins ? As for our stadium, atmosphere and standing. I think the atmosphere at City is as good as anywhere based on the fact that last season we hardly won a game at home and the season before that we got relegated. On Wednesday v Leicester it was good for a friendly until we went two down. My usual seat was already sold last week so I had to sit elsewhere and sure enough four of five blokes in the row in front of me stood up the minute we kicked off. So I moved. I could have caused a scene but I didn't. It is a problem. I stand at away games if it suits me and if not ( because I'm knackered) I move to the bottom of the stand and find an empty seat, there are usually plenty available. I do believe standing creates a better atmosphere and the club have realised this by the pricing and the move to get fans back in the North Stand. Plenty stand in there, I haven't changed seats because I don't want to and cannot stand for 90 mins these days with ease, some days I can, some I can't. I doubt if you could either cityzen ? In the perfect world I would like to see the re introduction of standing only areas and until that does happen maybe the back half dozen so of seats in each section sold with the disclaimer 'standing is allowed in this section' I don't think its a massive problem and I don't think the atmosphere at City is any worse then anywhere else and it is certainly up there with there with other clubs of our size when we are winning.

Don't take me too seriously. Come and sit near me. 66, knees gone and sitting in those seats kills me. I am in agony by the end of the match. Now where's me flask.
