I’m not having that Broadhead is on £34k a week. Tom Davies is a regular in the prem for them and he’s on £32k..

I can't believe he'd be on 35k a week mind. Tbh does my head in a bit when people say someone is on a specific wage. Bet nobody has a clue what wages someone is on.

No chance of him getting near that here or anywhere else in the championship.

But the lad is 24. €34k a week is great money but he has a year of it left. If he stays at Everton and doesn't play, his stock will fall, and he might find himself looking for a club next summer, rather than clubs looking for him.

He's a good player and I'd like him here if possible. But his agent should be telling him to move somewhere this summer, as the over-all money might well be the same or better if he moves now.

Does he want a three or four year contract on, say half his current money ? Assuming a bit of a pay off from Everton, who clearly don't fancy him, he would be mad not to take something like that IMO.

But as always, the better question is, " What does his agent want him to do?"

If Broadhead was on £39k then Simms would presumably be on similar. Both similar in terms of profile.

I think there’s every chance someone has got the decimal point in the wrong place there.

Simms is younger though , and might still be on an earlier professional contract.

This was before he signed a new contract, I can’t see them giving him a £30k pay rise because he’s had a season on loan at burton…

That can’t be that accurate as I’m sure we were pay £9000 of his weekly wage and Everton the rest whatever that maybe but TBH I’m not bothered what he was on,if as reported he wants to come here him and his agent need to be realistic and sharp about it the clocks a ticking

This was before he signed a new contract just before he came to us on loan. So we might well have paid £9k a week (even though that still sounds steep to me) but I’d imagine that’s the majority of whatever they put his wage up to last summer. Why would they give him a 7 fold payrise when he was still in their u23s and had barely had any game time on loan anywhere, bare in mind the financial difficulties they’ve had the last few seasons. Makes no sense

Ah right ok yeh it makes no sense but as I said I’ve no interest how much he was on as long as we can do a realistic deal for him if not we have to move on

He won’t be on that little because hearts couldn’t afford to match his wage at Everton but there’s nee chance they’ll be on £30k+ a week. I’d imagine between £10-15k.
Hearts would struggle to match 5 grand, mate.

I agree with the rest, though. There's no way at 22/23 and on 5 grand a week they've given him a 2 year contract and a 29 grand a week wage rise just to send him out on loan.

Nothing in PL football makes any sense mate. Even the fellas getting 300k a week,or more, can't make any sense of it.They'll just go along with it for as long as it lasts.
Nobody has control of it, it's like a runaway helter-skelter. There are some elements who are trying to bring some kind of reason to it, but the gravy train is in the hands of a small number of self interested people who think they can ride it into the future, safe in the knowledge that we,as fans, will always be there with our unwavering loyalty, not to them, but to the most beautiful game and to the club we follow......and.... we always will.
If everyone in the world cancelled their Sky subscriptions and didn't attend any match for 6 months........what would that do? Fantasy,I know, but ...interesting thought?

Regarding Broadhead, no idea what he’s paid but he’s a 24 year old premier league striker who has relatively recently signed a contract in that regard. I think people are significantly underestimating how much he’d be paid.

It’s ridiculous but it is what it is. If you think about it, there’s a reason he’s still a 24 year old Everton player, and it will be money. If he wanted first team football he wouldn’t have signed the deal a couple of years back as a 22 year old.

bear in mind Broadhead is 3 years older than Jack Clarke, and was at a club throwing money around like confetti. I’d be surprised if he was on less than £20k, and £34k seems high but definitely more likely than £5k.

Simms is a different kettle of fish as he’s a few years younger.

I have no idea what NB would be on, however I remember seeing the wage list from SAFC a few years ago (accidentally on the laptop of a person who was a board member at the club) and was proper shocked. It was from the 2007-08 season and clocked that the lowest first team squad earner back then was 22k per week. given that 14 years have passed and even more money is sloshing around the PL, 34k per week could be right. But we'll probably never know.
Nah, no chance mate. Academy kids only get paid buttons. A poster on here told me. He's adamant he's right, but with no proof

He was still in the development squad though, he’s never been registered in Everton’s main squad I don’t think has he? So technically he’s seen as a “Premier league player” to some because he plays for a premier league team but he’s never made a premier league appearance nor been included in their 25 man squad for the season. I think that would have a big impact on his contract.

I’d be surprised if it was high as some suggest but footballs f**king mad these days so it’s not impossible.
