Said just that to my Dad. If he stays fit, he’ll be a top forward in the championship. If he’s asking for 39k per week or anything stupid like that, for someone who is, from our experience, fit for 4 injured for 8, what’s the point! (Probably being generous with the 4 too!!)
He was on £34000p week at Everton we paid £9000 p week of his wages.
His agent offered him all over the place from the end of last season.
His wages will be a problem till he is FULLY FIT and a regular starter.
I think he may need deffered wages to get a decent club.

I think he’s not dissimilar to the signings of Clarke, Roberts and Pritchard. Has a high potential ceiling but hasn’t been close to it for a while. He was very highly rated when he broke through and had premier league interest. A punt but he obviously has the raw material to be a very good keeper.

Clarke, Roberts and Pritchard were all bought by Premier League clubs for 8 figure sums at one point in their career. They had flashed at a higher level and were all stepping down to join us - reluctantly, because we were Sunderland. They've all proven themselves at a Championship level at the very least.

Bass may turn out to be a good signing, but his pedigree isn't anything like the 3 you mentioned. He has barely proven himself at a League Two level.

Well he asked Sheffield utd to pay that,, and Hecky laughed. As I would.
Remember he was a highly rated prem player. At Everton who tried to buy the world and ended up skint, sounds familiar

No way we're getting Broadhead for that kind of money he's on at the Toffees. (Unless there's compromise... I'd love him here but let's move on if its not do-able.

I get that Everton overspend generally but 34k a week for a player who's barely kicked a ball for them.

Bass will be back-up...Patto is more than capable for a Championship keeper. Showedvthat in the really big games in the play-offs. Has an excellent temperament imo.

I’d expect the salary quoted to be an agent trying it on for a club with parachute payments and ex prem players.
i notice Schmeichel’s off. I wonder if that had a part to play in signing Bass. Have to be honest I’d still want an experienced starting keeper and get Patto on loan but I know that’s not a popular opinion.

On the whole Simms signing, refuse to get my hopes up until it's announced on safc website, same goes for Broadhead. Been stung too many times, Parrott was a done deal apparently.

Not a chance he is on 34k pw at Everton . If that is true then Everton deserve to go under

It wouldn't shock me is he was on £10k but there is no way he is on £34k. I reckon some clubs in premier league will hand out £8-12k a week to young lads without even thinking about it. When they are handing out £250-300 k a week contracts they probably don't think about the fact that a lad who hasn't made mor than one first team appearance yet shouldn't be on that kind of money.
