I actually applaud the owners for how they’re handling transfers so far. Not giving in to ridiculous transfer fees, wages & agent fees is a good thing in the long term, it sets a precedent that we won’t be ****ed with when it comes to handing over dough. People panicking over lack of transfers should remind themselves of where Everton ended up by spunking half a billion on ****e

They absolutely have to stay firm on this. Everton are in a total mess.

Wood, 2 goals in 17 and some pretty dire performances.
Almiron 1 goal and no assists in about 82 matches.

We have had a decade or so of managers bemoaning a lack of creativity, a lack of goals, and you're happy we've got these two in or around the 1st XI? Nobody on here can say they're not disappointed so far with the business or lack thereof. Nobody on here can hand on heart say this is where they thought we'd be with transfers with 2 weeks til the start of the season.

Like I say, it'll probably work out ok by the end of the window, but I'm surely allowed to express disappointment right now based on the facts.
Wood was horrific for us last season but we were relegation fodder and our football was ****ing atrocious, we were so ****ing nervous and defensive in a lot of our games and he was just ploughing farrow ****ing land most of the time he was on the pitch. We’ve been crying out for a manager to play two up top for so many seasons now it’s ridiculous, wood cannot the role of a lone striker, if he has Wilson beside him I think we’ll see a different player. He’s nowhere near as bad as your making out with those skewed stats from last season but time will tell. I wasn’t jumping up and down with excitement when we signed him so I ain’t gonna sit here and say he’s gonna be ****ing mint for us next season nor was I expecting him to bang 10 goals in for us last season when he signed but I’m sure as **** prepared to give him a full season in a team starting from scratch on 0 points like the rest of them and see where we end up.

As for Miggy, I had many a debate with CC when he signed about his end product, he’s a frustrating player a lot of the time but he’s head and shoulders above Murphy and I’d rather him in the team than Fraser. Anderson may very well turn out to be decent competition for him but unless we’re suddenly gonna bring in a world class winger to replace him for me he’s the best we have in that position at the moment.

Im extremely disappointed with our lack of incomings, nobody could argue that the players who have left needed to be gone but by my calculations that’s 4 out and 2 in from the squad that finished last season with potentially more to leave. I would have expected at least two more, especially with this being a World Cup year as well but as I said earlier there’s still 6 weeks ish left before the window shuts, I’m still looking forward to transfer deadline day mind !

Dont get this. It’s leopards and spots for me. Wood, Murphy, Almiron, Longstaff, Shelvey and more have over months and years proven they aren’t good enough. I think we’ll have no choice but to sit and wait, but I genuinely think it’s a mistake to expect last seasons run to simply carry on into this, when everyone else is strengthening.
I have faith in Howe and our backroom staff so I don’t feel the need to panic. If they think they can live with what we have or to hold off until later in the window then I think they earned the right last year to give that a go.

2 up front? Holy hell, mate, the 90’s just got off the phone, they want their tactic back.

Three in midfield is vital. You either go 433 or 4231 and if Wood can’t play up front in those then he’s ****ing worthless. Which he can’t, and which he is!

I guess the point about “signing a world class winger” is kinda the point. If Almiron is the best the new owners can muster, this idea of five years to success is miles off the mark. We’re supposed to view Arsenal and West Ham as the competition and both are moving more decisively in this market. We can’t even glance at the top four. Villa went fast as well. Time will tell but as of 3pm on Sat 23rd July I’m concerned by the lack of reinforcements and the prospect of Murphy, Longstaff, Shelvey, Wood, Fraser and Almiron being relied on consistently in the first team. It certainly looks more Leicester City than Man City. Certainly the PL rivals must be wondering what all the fuss was about. Teams will be galvanised by this, rather than fearful.

This 100%.

If we sign no one else on the pitch, for me it's been a great window and I go into next season with a lot of hope and optimism.
