I think Kemi would be a breath of fresh air.
Did I read that she was miles ahead with the members? (Not MPs)

To be honest Col, I haven't yet met one 'red wall' voter who would vote for the Tories again. I'm not saying they would vote Labour or others but not a single one who voted Tory last time say they will again. Westminster and London is like a separate country to some folk up here, so far removed its silly. It will take a big shift and actual actions over slogans to get them back on side.

I don’t think I can trust you until you’ve spoken to the entire Red Wall.

Is Venetian plastering the one where damp is built in, and it crumbles within two years?

Stupidly let some blokes do some rendering in our garden a few years ago when it was obviously too damp and have enjoyed the crumbling Renaissance ruin look ever since.

Don't think I ever said that. But as I live and work inside it, I merely report what I've been told by a number of them. They were pretty consistent so dismiss it if you wish.

QED. Thanks for confirming my point.. When losing, just encourage the electorate to vote against someone else. It works for as long as you can say that they are an even worse bet than your lot. But every so often the electorate looks hard and is not convinced- usually when the party in government is seen for what it is - a bunch of corrupt self-serving chancers out to enrich themselves and their paymasters.

Rare that I’ll agree with Goldy on anything but I’d never underestimate the Tories’ ability to re-brand yet again or enough of the electorate’s to blindly fall for it. Doubt they’ll have the numbers for a majority but no chance anyone else will either so the best and only hope is some tactical voting and a fairly flimsy Lab/SNP/Lib coalition which isn’t terribly exciting but more so than yet another five years of these corrupt ****s.

FWIW, Corbyn’s policies were incredibly popular until they had his name put on them. The most efficient way to winning for both sides is basically to say that we’re ****s but them lot will tax you more / have proven they’re bigger ****s (delete as applicable). It’s **** but it’s what we get with FPTP. I can’t see the electorate in the seats which actually matter suddenly ‘waking up’ and voting en masse for change. There’s nothing in recent history to suggest it’ll happen. Grim.

No, nothing of the sort. It's Italian marble or textured Plastering. Mainly seen abroad and very very expensive

I'm sure that's the case Bob and I'm not trying to defend the twats, but your contacts are a tiny proportion.

My concern is that we're heading for a hung parliament or coalition of idiots.
A lot could happen between now and the next election though.

The candidates for Tory leader were all asked in the TV debate whether they thought Boris Johnson was honest. Only one answered honestly - Tom Tugendhat.

Having watched the 1st TV debate, that Tom Tugunhadt fella was the most honest by far. That alone could keep the Tories in power whilst the least impressive had to be Theresa May.......I mean Liz Truss. Sunak is a tit, Maudant uses the word 'things' every sentence and that other lass ain't got a chance in hell with the Tory party members vote.

Pathetic. She's doing one day standing in forJames O'Brien on LBC, It's hardly a second job. The other four days will be covered by Matt Hancock, Jeremy Hunt, Tom Tugendhat and Wes Streeting.
