So we are now seeing what he is truely capable of. More importantly showing the sort of form when he came to us on loan from arse n hole. Do we have anything in place to buy him at the end of his loan or are we gonna see another puncheon saga?
Good point Deano - bit concerned both Jay and Howard are loanees. Don't think Hull or Reading have the small minded approach that Soton and their chairman have. Hull doing well and Jay clearly wants to get back south and Howard seems very committed. So here's hoping on both....
In Total agreement! just hapy we own Liam Feeney! what an excellent performance from him saturday!! when he skind one player to the touch line stopped the ball on the line and skind another 2 players! the south upper just roared!
Just seen an article on sky sports it seems jay wants to stay too! Howard's contract is up at the end of the season so maybe we could pick him up cheap too?
If we have them both until Jan on loan can we stump up a fee and get a contract agreed now before the Jan window opens or is that not how it works?
after the punch saga with Southampton one would like to think something has been put in place so that kinda thing doesnt happen again,,,,, would be great to get them both and fully agree about Liam seems quality and should get even better,
We tried to do a permanent deal with you in the first place, but you wouldn't stump up the cash. I believe we were looking for about £600k, but you were only offering about £200k, he's finished with us and he seems to be missing London, so there's definitely a deal to be done, particularly as we're also looking to convert Waghorn's loan to a permanent in Jan.
Win your game in hand and you're joint 2nd so not looking like you need Jay anyway. If he played as badly for you as he did in his first couple of games you would amazed at the way he's playing now, like a different player.
When he first played for us he looked terrible, but he got a second chance and he looked much better. Unfortunately, those couple of good performances came just as the club was being bought out and we spent £2.5m on two new strikers last January and he dropped back down the pecking order. I'm pretty certain that one way or another, he'll stay with you.
