I'm currently going through the Atlee Pine series by David Baldacci. I should be finished by the middle of next week.

I'm open to suggestions for my next read :)

I enjoy reading about folks lives. Learning what makes them tick and gain an understanding into why they're the way that they're.

I've just had a quick glance. It looks like something that I'd enjoy. I see the 6th book has been released this year. Do you know how many he has planned? I always think that sometimes the authors can overdo it.

Not sure how many. I've just finished the fourth one and I'll definitely be reading the 5th.
If you like the subject matter and real life stuff I'd recommend Ben McIntyre's Double Cross and Agent Zigzag. Real life/history but really readable.

I’m a fan of Dean Koontz.
Don’t often read a book more than once , but did with Helter Skelter, written by the prosecutor of the Manson murders . Then , interesting to read Manson’s book about his life- almost has you feeling sorry for him

Ken Follett's series are absolutely phenomenal reads. Kingsbridge series and century trilogy. I love the way each book follows the families through time, even Kingsbridge novels that has 100's of years between some of them.

A book I’ve been recommending for years to anyone who would listen is The Potato Factory. One of the best books ever written, in my opinion. The title may sound boring but it is genuinely in-put-downable.

Just reading 'Vilolette Szabo' a woman who's bravery is truly humbling.

Sent into France as a special agent in WW2, captured, tortured and executed as many were.

The Cato and Macro series by Simon Scsrrow are good, if you like historical fiction. About the Roman army, starting with "Under the Eagle" and the invasion of Britain under Claudius.

I enjoyed the Falco novels as well, again if you like historical fiction, set in Rome as well, but more detective stories. Or some of Robert Harris' novels (Imperium, Lustrum, Fatherland, etc).

The Simon Scarrow ones are good. I quite like Valerio Massimo Manfredi too. C J Sansom's Shardlake series is good for historical fiction.

Ive started on the Jack Reacher series. Just finished Tripwire and about to start on The Visitor.

For some reason Smug seems to remind me of Reacher...................

    I haven't read a book for ages....years.

Was in Aldi last week and bought Schindlers Ark, which I have never read....I would rate Schindlers List as my all time favourite film.

Clearing the mother in laws house out, came across a 3 of Spike Milligans war memoir books...I've read these before and they're brilliant....real laugh out loud stuff.

Telling my mate at work about the Spike Milligan books, he recommended reading Tom Sharpe books. The Throwback was the one he particularly mentioned said it was the funniest book he had ever read.
Looked on Facebook marketplace and someone local was selling a Tom Sharpe box set of 8 books (new), along with 3 individual books for £20.

So having not read anything for years, I now have 15 books to read. I'm 56, best makes a start.....
