good luck to tyler dibbling. i cant say that i think its a smart move tbh. the list of young players signing elsewhere keeps growing as chelseas habit of blocking the pathway seems unstoppable. hopefully we are at the front of the queue in 3 years when he’s frothing for first team games and they’ve just signed 3 AMs from Italy, Spain and France.
If Chelsea have got Dibling and they already signed Eddie Beach, then they’ve pinched two of our most promising title winning u18s before we could get them on pro deals. This does feel a bit vindictive after we got Tino so cheaply. It just shows how hard it is to compete against the wealthy clubs, because they can afford to put these lads on big salaries with the expectation that a club like ourselves will be paying 10m plus in a couple of years with a buy back securing their investment even further.
Me too. I always love it when we sign top class youngsters. ...just hope some of them are ready to make an instant impact. The success of next season will likely depend on it.
Yeah this is the big question. If they are all like Livramento/Broja then we will have upgraded the side very well. If they aren’t PL level yet then we will be in for a fight this year
Has apparently now told Chelsea he wants out on a permanent deal. Fulham and Leicester also interested.
Will he prefer us as an option? Tino being a pull, and then maybe Broja although I like the look of Delap.
Suppose you have to hope the track record with youth pulls him in, alongside his friendship with Tino and being born in Southampton. The Colwill family are, largely, still living in the area apparently.
The reports this summer were that if he wasn’t included in the pre season tour he was going to leave permanently. The main squad flew out on Saturday and he’s now also gone to join them, so seems like there’s been some developments the last few days as otherwise why not fly on Saturday?
If true, you would have thought we would have agreed something around the Dibling transfer, or I would have ****ing well thought so.
