Apparently more then they are offering. Acun said £30m, media quoting £16m plus add on's has been offered, so at a guess somewhere in between. I would also hazard a guess that the way any transfer fee is structured could be a big factor. If we are buying we'd want a sizable chunk up front. Don't think some thing on the lines of £5m down and the rest in instalments over two seasons. depending on appearances etc would get him.
Hopefully. It's going to be interesting who Shota chooses as captain next season. I could also see it maybe being Seri if he signs.
Brentford tried that in January and were told to do one, the latest offer sounds like it's more cash up front.
Gut feeling ? We are shopping in Harrods for a club of our size and trying to convince International players to relocate to England and sign for a club they probably have never heard of who play in the Championship and finished 19th last season. Takes some doing that and some serious.money. I don't for one second believe Acun has bottomless pockets, he probably had a nominal amount set aside for players, but if he wants quality players they come at a price. So it must be very tempting to fill his war chest by cashing in on KLP. Brentford have been sniffing for over a year now and Keano's stock has risen in that time whilst playing in a modest team.. (It could have quite easily have gone the other way too, and still could if he picks up an injury) So I think once the offer is tempting enough with enough money up front to fund the players Acun wants to bring in then yes I think KLP will go. Also in a week when our rugby league competitors have been banging the drum about their new 'world class' Academy at Hull University and appealing to any local youngsters talented in sport to join them, it shows the reality of the situation. Any talented local lad should chose football, join their local club, listen, learn and work and they too could be in KLP's shoes by the time they are 21. Riches and fame that cannot be achieved following the oval balled game. So if Potter leaves, and I've watched him since he was 17, he goes with my blessing. He deserves the chance and I hope we have another couple of up and coming young lads on our conveyor belt. I have every confidence that we have.
Keep an eye on McCauley snelgrove, he was stand out player in his age group, pre academy, very talented.
City through and through that lad, he’s a regular at away games when he doesn’t have 23 games. Hope he gets his chance
Our Academy is excellent and we signed another young lad (centre half) today from Burnley, hopefully one for the future. Hoping to see more of the Academy this season now they will be playing closer to home.
Saw him play very young and he was embarrassing players a year older, like I saw a certain Nick barmby do alongside Stuart Young's years earlier. Very talented and yes remember him celebrating his birthday in the away end at sjp beating Newcastle
I've asked this question a few times but been called out for panicking when it's really just curiosity at why we wouldn't announce signings that are done. Even if they're pending clearance or whatever, we announced Tufan pending permits etc.
