Yep. And it's going to be followed by a Commons statement from the outgoing Health Secretary.
I've got popcorn and Pepsi at the ready.

Hope its a bucket of popcorn and a couple litres of pepsi. Its going to be a long afternoon.
Jess Phillips is value for money as always. Not a labourite, but there are a few of their MPs who I like. Besides Phillips, Lisa Nandy and Chris Bryant are all level headed in my eyes.
    Harriet Harmen a steadying influence.
Several on the Conservative benches as well. They're being dragged down by Boris.
Ben Wallace is a man to listen to.

I wonder if Boris will try and brazen it out.
Boos (not booze) from the conservative backbenches?

No doubt in my mind that the majority go into politics for laudable reasons. But if you ever wanted to prove the adage that power corrupts, UK politics is where to look. I actually like numerous MPs on all sides.

He'll probably tell his office to tell everyone he's fallen on his sword.
Then it'll be, he was repeatedly assured that he'd fallen on his sword.
Then, he'd forgotten that he needed a sword.

Getting back to the more important things in life.....<whistle>

Went to Marlow today - love the place. The 200 year old suspension bridge across the Thames with the town on one side of the river and the Compleat Angler hotel on the opposite bank has always fascinated me. However, it has a very low weight restriction - no problems for cars but no way for HG vehicles - I think 3 tonne GVW is the limit .

You may (or may not) recall about 5 years back that some foreign HG driver who couldn't read a word of English tried to get his 38 ton artic across and got stuck. They had to close the bridge to drag it off and then it stayed closed for a couple of months whilst they checked it it out for structual damage.

There have always been "pinch points" either end of the bridge but they were only determined by the narrow raised kerbs to deter drivers. This idiot in his artic ignored them and went straight over so they installed steel capstan style bollards to prevent that happening again. The trouble is they've gone a bit too far and set adjustable steel "pinch points" on top of the capstans which are extremely tight. I never come into Marlow from the Bisham side now after I **** a brick a couple of years back when I squeezed through with about an inch each side to spare - my fault for having an X5...........<laugh>

Anyway, we were trying to cross the road on foot on the Marlow side right by the pinch points waiting for a string of vehicles to inch through carefully. They all cleared slowly but I said to the entourage to hang on a minute because there was another car heading across the bridge at some speed - he obviously didnt know the restriction. It was a brand new sparkling silver grey Aston Martin with a prat at the wheel and a bimbo sitting next to him.

Screeeeeeeeeech, scraaaaaaape, a rapid stop, an apoplectic prat and a whimpering bimbo, and more bad language than even I use. One massive rip/dent right down the passenger side which will take more than a couple of cans dupli-color to sort out. I whistled and walked on enjoying the view.

    Compleat angler.
    Good book. Izaak Walton.

You do wonder about some drivers.
You also wonder about who designs some roads. I know the bridge has been there for ever, but access should be better controlled.

More interested with the Izaak Walton book. Written before the bridge was built (1653).
Up there with Dame Juliana's A Treatyse of Fysshynge Wyth an Angle (1827).

Today I have been mostly wondering about a growing food crisis and whether we should be extra nice to Farmer Remote?
