He's a big man and I'm sure he'd say the right things.

My worry with a new squad, especially with a lot of youngsters, is the leadership. Its why at the end of the season and the proposed clear out I said we needed experience at GK, CB, CM and up front, to hold the team together and talk the new players through the difficult times. And there are always plenty of those in a championship season.
And that leadership is vital in the first couple of months of a season. Get off to a bad start and confidence can drain from youngsters and the season is gone.
Often, a player is worth more than his pace or his skills, the top 3 inches are vital. You can afford to 'carry' a player physically just for his nous and leadership.
Might only need it for half a season while the team gains experience of playing together.

We currently have Ralls in the middle of the park who will have to hold it all together.

You wonder how many of our 'failed' players might have thrived in our brave new world?

I don't think Morison has finished yet by a long chalk but hope he's not relying on Morrison to provide that "experience" at the back. He was very slow before his knee injury and won't be any quicker after it either.

We keep hearing about the need to strengthen of the "spine" down the middle of the pitch which would suggest adding more typical Championship style players. I think we have that in the middle now with Ralls, Wintle, Ebou Adams and now Rhino. I'd back Morison to bring in some flair to add to that rather than more of the same.

It's at the back and up front for me that needs some serious attention - particularly up front. He has to find a ruthless goalscorer to add to the tepid assortment we already have. No disrespect intended to messrs Watters, Harris and Zak Davies who have suffered from a lack of service, but goals win games and they don't get anywhere near enough to win games rather than just save them.

OK, such strikers either cost money and/or demand it for their services if they're free agents, but enough cash was found and committed to tempt Bale - it should be made available to fill the voids we can all see.

Good point about the cash being made available but from a business point if view, would anyone else give the club the commercial benefits that Gareth would have brought. Forking out for him would probably work out a lot cheaper than bringing in an average player.
My heart agrees with you but the club has to proceed carefully with finances.

Its starting to look like a big squad. And if he is looking to add more, there have to be outgoings.

We've lost 10(?) Senior pros, 5 loanees and a couple youngsters from last season.
We've already signed 9.
The squad was too big last year in my mind anyway (2 players for every position, a third keeper and a few players to provide variety and enable changes in formation, 27 or 28 players should do it?).

Given Morison seemed to sell his vision to Tan on home grown youth, I dont see our youngsters getting a sniff this season, especially as 'one for the future' has already been sold to the Gas.
Starting to sense mixed messages.

Early on I sensed a plan / vision, but the waters seem to be getting muddied (Watters getting muddied will be in November, and Muddy Waters is someone totaly different).
It used to be one out, one in. Looks like the ins are coming before the outs, which is positive but hope the plot doesnt get lost.

Agree on the striker comments though.

Hope Morison isnt turning into a Boris Johnson.
Say whats needed to keep people on side and yourself in post.
Spout aspirations without the ability to plan and deliver.

Slightly worried

Anyone heard or seen anything about Tommy Doyle at Man City? Could a new loan deal be on the cards to fill that "creative mid" spot?

That would leave anything left in the pot to go after a decent striker.
I've also been wondering about Doyle but haven't read anything.

Another midfielder? The lad looks promising but unless he is a Doyle style no. 10, do we need another one when our main requirement is someone who can score regularly.
Certainly for £1m.
Chuck that in the kitty for a striker.

His goals / assists per game isnt that great either.
And I keep wondering what out youngsters will think with all these signings.
Is he any better than Colwill.

Morison like a kid in the sweetshop at the moment.

Just been looking at the official site.
I know there's a lot of ins and outs, but it would be good if they got the squad details updated with bios and stats for the new players.
I've got some homework to do on who is who!

Looks like I've some catching up to do anyway. Can't say Ive seen this as his full name before.
Perry Ng Tian-Hee.
