Even as a player he wanted to take the ball out of defence but couldnt defend properly.

so you dont think he didnt know what he was doing?
you dont think it was more down to the players than the manager when we play well
for example, if we dont have a left back why dont we play 3 at the back rather than play a right back at left back?

KLP played every minute this past season and was still full of beans when he played for England u-21s but these poor senior England players. It’s been a long and gruelling season for them all. They’re probably tired.

a 4-0 home defeat and he deserves all the flak he is getting. you are only as good as your last game.
    or 4

the way we played against what has since proven to be a poor team in the final with only 2 or 3 "predictable patterns of play" to their game spotted by a pundit but ignored by southgate, was poor and didnt merit any plaudits. i didnt buy into the hype at the time. i also thought we were lucky in avoiding the better teams.

It’s not about that,,I just don’t think they looked overly interested in these games , I don’t blame them , seasons already getting ****ed about cos of the farcical decision to move the World Cup, all the preseasons starting early etc, it’s not about feeling sorry for them, just the ones who know they are already in the plane probably just not overly arsed, and I think it showed in the displays

People give Southgate credit for getting England to a final but the manner in which we bottled it overrides that imo. We scored early then only had one more shot on target for the rest of the 120 minutes after that. That’s down to Southgate’s coaching.

To have two shots on target against Italy with the attacking talent this England squad had is criminal.

Well there's no excuse about being tired at the World Cup as it's only 3 n half months into the season

Shoes how much the Queen knows about football. Which reminds me of the old Tommy Cooper story, meeting the Queen at a royal variety show, 'do you enjoy football ma'am?', 'actually, no not really', 'in that case can I have your cup final tickets?' :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If a player thinks he doesnt need to impress then a good manager will drop him
    You dont see Kane coasting

Any time a player puts on their country’s shirt should be a time to impress. The lack of desire to win at home in front of England fans by the players is down to the manager being a wet flannel. Tonight isn’t a one-off. They’ve been gash in the last four games.

The thing about England is not to expect anything, when they let us down we can’t be disappointed. 3-0 and he brought maguire on!
I can hear it now “it’s been a long season, with no summer break and then the pl season started early”. The excuse that will be reeled out when we do **** in the World Cup
