Phillips at fault again (Strolls will be pleased).
These games have been disastrous for England.
So many changes, different formations, players knackered.
Southgate is struggling.
 
Phillips has been poor, but you have to question why Southgate has put him in a formation where he's the only holding midfielder. He's recovering from a long injury lay off.
I actually think this may be one major tournament too far for Southgate.

All down to the draw. If we don't have to beat any top teams we could do well like the last 2. Southgate's tactical acumen against decent sides has never been good and his use of substitutes questionable at best. If Foden and Grealish don't both start we can forget it !

Yeah, it's not quite as straight forward as that.
I do think all the criticism has got to Southgate and he's had a real mare with these fixtures. If they had to be played, which they did, play your best team available with the WC approaching.
Now Stones gets a second yellow for nothing. Terrible dive and the ref falls for it.
Pretty much sums it up.
