After the experiences with Gayle, Carroll and to some extent Wilson, I'd assume when we sign players these days we'd be particularly mindful of cuseless lunts who can't stay fit.
Gonna be interesting to see if there is anything in this Wilson moving his family up here rather than traveling thing with regards injuries.
I've got to admit that I don't think prices will totally kill a deal for a marquee signing such as Paqueta. FFP would allow what is it, £400m in three years? Obviously I don't want our owners getting ripped off, and I'm sure Eddie feels some pressure not to expect the world, for lots of reasons. But I doubt our owners will want a slow burn in their quest for a great team. I'll be surprised if we don't spend the January window plus a bit more this summer. If it is less than that, then fine. The ride is going to great - good days and a few bad days.
Yeah that's interesting. Disappointing that he's still living down south - sorry but I feel that's lacking, and he's not been totally on board. Can blame Ashley for that in his defence.
I think he is up here bit his family were down south so if there was a few days gap in training he would drive down and come back up. So in reality he was driving up and down at least twice a week.
60 to 80 plus player sales was quoted... So really there's still about 68 left plus any money from sales.
I assume they've probably downplayed the amount though, but to stop fan expectations going overboard, and to stop other teams making their prices ridiculous to us.
I don't mate I think that's just all mental gymnastics. I mean stavely told us how much was available on the 1st team over 5 years and they've repeatedly tried to tell fans they can't just throw loads of money around. I also think 80 million is more than enough to take us into the top half this summer with a bit of luck with injuries.

Ooooh spaff. If we get Targett, Botman and Hugo through the door in next few weeks it will be mental.
Just bear in mind, She said that when the deal collapsed.......They could hardly go argue with the PL by saying "It's so unfair we planned on spunking £3bn over 3 years"
Wilson is without doubt going to be our 1st choice striker. A better striker would cost crazy money. Ekiteke and wood will be back up and they might bring in someone else that can do Job if desperately needed. That's my prediction anyway
Targett £12m, Hugo £30m, Botman if we get him will be around £35m... We aint getting change from £80m for that lot, but it'd still be very happy. Think Harrison and Sarr would be good additions also though.
