Do you think it would be acceptable for a person going before the court, to produce their bank account figures, and everything they own in life for the judge to make a decision about the size of their fine?
So for everybody going to court to receive a fine, their entire financial circumstances, rich or poor, would be made public knowledge after breaking the speed limit?
And once we know their financial status, if we consider them rich. On top of them already paying more income tax, council tax and stamp duty etc etc, shall we charge them more for food, petrol, tickets to the match perhaps?
Where would be a good place to stop?
