At one point on bt sports it showed a birds eye view of the situation.
There were very few people milling around at the Real Madrid end. Inside the stadium the Madrid end looked full. There appeared to be no issues at that end of the stadium.
In contrast, the Liverpool end was reported to be only half full inside the stadium. Outside the turnstile area seemed really quiet but beyond the outer perimeter where tickets were being checked there were thousands of Liverpool fans waiting to get in.
That's not made up. That's fact. It was there for all to see.
The question is why were there so many fans not getting through at the Liverpool end? Was it organised differently to the Madrid end? Is there a different route in to the stadium? Did the police act differently? Were there too many fans I.e unexpected numbers without tickets which jammed the system up? Did fans breach security which shut down the stadium?
There certainly seemed to be too many fans outside compared to the seats left inside the stadium. There will be the Liverpool perspective, the UEFA perspective but the truth will lie somewhere in the middle.
Looks like the police/stadium staff made it difficult for the Liverpoool fans.
