At one point on bt sports it showed a birds eye view of the situation.

There were very few people milling around at the Real Madrid end. Inside the stadium the Madrid end looked full. There appeared to be no issues at that end of the stadium.

In contrast, the Liverpool end was reported to be only half full inside the stadium. Outside the turnstile area seemed really quiet but beyond the outer perimeter where tickets were being checked there were thousands of Liverpool fans waiting to get in.

That's not made up. That's fact. It was there for all to see.

The question is why were there so many fans not getting through at the Liverpool end? Was it organised differently to the Madrid end? Is there a different route in to the stadium? Did the police act differently? Were there too many fans I.e unexpected numbers without tickets which jammed the system up? Did fans breach security which shut down the stadium?

There certainly seemed to be too many fans outside compared to the seats left inside the stadium. There will be the Liverpool perspective, the UEFA perspective but the truth will lie somewhere in the middle.

Looks like the police/stadium staff made it difficult for the Liverpoool fans.

Yeah he's not been great since Afcon. Saying that though he had his chance yesterday and Courtois just saved it, (same with the earlier curling effort) nothing wrong with the run and shot and on another day he puts us back in the game. Same Vs Wolves got the goal to put us in control it was just that City meant that it didn't matter. So he isn't always playing badly. I don't know, he's not been himself but I just don't expect it to be a problem next season.

Dani Carvajal: “Salah talked a lot before the game, in the end the singer had a better performance.”

I accept what appears the valid arguments that the police and stadium officials, along with UEFA didn't have a clue what they were doing in regards to entrancing at the Liverpool section.

However, it still leaves me with one massive question, assuming at least some of the ticketless fans or fradululent tickets were held by Liverpool fans, why in the world would anyone, knowing the club has been at the forefront of two major football disasters, that have cost lives, why would they try and buck the system?

How many more disasters does English football need to have, before lessons are learned by all. Especially as this isn't long after what occurred at Wembley. How much more tolatarian do we need to be, to bring these idiots that want to jump the system under control.

and the good thing with the ticketless system is it's completely transferable without moving from your armchair - so if I can't make it due to ill health on the day of the game, I just email it to someone else. The only identifier is the purchaser, who will have an account with the club, so there is always one accountable person for a batch of tickets.

I should add our whole stadium is cashless, so you can only buy anything electronically.
The transferable part is the bit personally I don't agree with.

That would make it even easier for touts or even regular fans to sell tickets on for a profit and that's something that the electronic system could eradicate you would have thought.

Its great service but its also really dumb. You could be selling him for big bucks for a rebuild rather than letting him leave on a free ala coutinho.

Would love for him to stay another year and leave on a free

Yeah... I think we should be cashing in on all three of the original three. Mane, Salah, Firm... All have contracts ending, and whereas Mane still puts In a performance, Salah and Firm seen to have lost some pace and some mental edge.

Now's the time to cash in for the rebuild. It's not just the front line. We've sever other players who have hit their peak and started declining. Great squad still, but time for the next gen now.

Question for people that go to big games often...

At my club, I believe we are now ticketless, I know when I have tickets they are electronic to my phone. So the thought on my mind is if a little tinpot club like mine can organise something like that, why does it not happen for the worlds top games?

Surely that cuts down on fraudulent tickets, no?

Or is it impossible to manage big games as a ticketless venue, I'd have thought you shouldn't be allowed to hold the game unless you had a ticketless system?

Trying to understand this aspect of what went wrong last night. So how do Spurs, Man Utd and Liverpool operate for example?

Think you’re asking in the wrong place mate

Why do we need to Rebuild?

Not even a rebuild but why not go for constant improvement with sure reinvestment.

You didnt want to sell coutinho and you didnt need a rebuid at that point, just an improvement. Its just so happened selling coutinho to get vvd and alisson was a stroke of genius.

Salah could be the same.

I'm not so sure, who's buying him and for how much?

Yeah no one wants salah, evidently not good enough.

The price might not be right but the sentiment should be there (to move him on) to help improve if he doesnt have any intention to signing a new deal
