I still reckon he could, but the three things that stuck with me was 1) His position is the last place needing attention at present and 2) A deal needs to be reached with Lyon's notoriously difficult president. 3) He never set Serie A alight.

If he does sign it will prove that we do in fact have a 2nd kitty for "big names".

Window's not open so let's see what happens come August.

I won't lie I hope you're right

To be clear I'm happy with whichever way the club want to do this. If it's slow and steady then that's their decision.

If they want to light the afterburners then crack on. From a business point people need to understand that for every £10m quid the PIF chuck in Mehrdad and Amanda need to chuck in £1m......and they ain't exactly rolling in it.

........And before we even get into transfer incomings let's just sit back and watch the utter carnage when sponsorships get announced and are no where near City levels or Liverpool levels with people crying. <laugh>

.......Paulo Maldini (AC Milan Director of Football) on Sven Botman "We follow him, but there are many, many good centre backs out there".

Hardly the done deal the Italian press stated months ago.

Seems to align with the "Oh ****, we've been rumbled by the police" story doing the rounds.

Awaits the leveraged buyout coming their way which Italian press will initially make out puts them in City, PSG, Our levels of wealth <laugh>

Reading Howe prefers to look at domestic cbs

I honestly think nufc could well go all in for mings this summer

I honestly think repeating this every half hour is pointless. He hasn't signed. Let's keep the conversation more varied. If we do sign Mings, then let's discuss it!

Same with Paqueta Nunez and Dybala, but of the 4 I think we both know what's more likely.

So current strong links seem to be.........

Keeper
Dean Henderson
Thomas Strakosha

LWB
Matt Targett
Renan Lodi
Rogerio
Mitchel Bakker
Aaron Hickey

CB's
Sven Botman
Tyrone Mings
Benoit Badiashille
Gleison Bremnar
Evan N'Dicka
Gonçalo Inácio

Centre Mid's
Lucas Paquetta
Frank Kessie

Left Wingers
Moussa Diaby
Max Cornet
Ismael Sarr

Strikers
Hugo Ekitike
Darwen Nunez
Victor Oshimen

Probably more, but these seem to be the names in the press over last few months.

Can you just stop discussing anything until they've signed and then we can talk Yeh
