Like wood turned jn to Erm Chris wood. Whatever will be will be. We'll sign players we don't want at times, but it's not up to us.
We are 4 days post season with most the clubs senior staff, coaches, medical team and players now likely on beaches in various parts around the world. IF we are to sign anybody pre June 10th, it would have to be for someone they are desperate for. Desperate enough to scramble multiple private jets from around the world to fly into Newcastle to complete said deal prior to when people are scheduled to return from holidays. Now it's by no means impossible, it's just not very likely. Same with Sponsors, backroom appointments etc. It's not impossible to announce these yet, just unlikely. I said earlier this week it was likely to be a slow couple of weeks and so far it's turning out that way. In a perverse way I'd quite enjoy seeing what was happening if we get to end of June with nothing happening
The speed of the Villa deals indicate we lost out to them in January. Villa just got a pre-agreement lined up and signed the paperwork the second the season was done. They’ve hedged and gone early. They’ve spent a lot too so there’s not a lot of spending left from Villa Park. Not a concern, unless Mings comes in - that’s a bit of a clusterfuck decision. He really is quite ****.
Where did this Mings rumour even surface from? For what it's worth, I don't think he's too bad. Fast, decent in the air and strong, not bad at passing and if I'm remembering correctly a captain so has leadership qualities. May turn out to be one of these players that's just stalled at his current club and needs to move on. My views may be based on the cluster **** of a defence I witnessed this past year and my belief that I could have thrown some under 9's in there that would have been more alert and switched on to what Clark and Lascelles were early season.
Where's that Trump gif. In readiness for end of month start of June??? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...-Brighton-sporting-director-Dan-Ashworth.html
Either way villa fans feel like they've botted nufc fans once again. The truth is almost irrelevant. Much like Bruno never turned arsenal down... They just didn't bother, but nufc fans like the idea, rolled with it and rewrote history.
There's going to come a point when people realise. Staveley told us 250 over 5 years plus investment off the pitch.
Am I missing something with Carlos? our number 1 target was Botman and still is…. We then put a panic bud in for £50m to tell us stay up.. rejected… yet Seville are now selling for £26m…. Seems odd. almost like trigger is in charge of their negotiations….
Newcastle are are not going to pay big money for players at this stage. I don't know why fans can't seem to accept this when even the club told them. Looks like it'll be much like January where they'll bring in seemingly underwhelming players with 1 maybe 2 bigger names if they get lucky. Newcastle are about 3 to 5 years away from buying fancy names. Aston villa are super rich and they're a couple of years ahead of Newcastle in their project.
They're not ahead of us. They appointed a new manager at the same time we did, therefor starting a new project at that time. They finished lower in the league than we did, proving their not 2 years ahead of us. They may be wealthy - Not in any way shape or form the same wealth as we have access to. As for big money for players at this stage? Kind of agree to an extent that it won't be elite level players. I would continue to say that even if we somehow pulled off the signings of Nunez and Botman as they are unproven at the top level. If you genuinely believe this stuff you're writing with regards money, why keep posting Billions and Billions gifs?
They actually ahead of Newcastle because they've been doing things with the club for years. One of those things is employing and setting up a recruitment team that's is getting praise for it's work. Newcastles owners have only known the clubs status for about 8 weeks To suggest villa have just sat on their arses off the pitch is ludicrous. They've been growing the club off the pitch. They're rich they're 5 richest in the premier league. Your question? Because it's a 10 year plan.... Not 8 months.. I can enjoy it without the rush. Have I said it will never happen? No.. I just know how it works... Fans need to realise its a slow build
Oh and BTW I take no pleasure in reminding you Paqueta won't be signed. It was just obvious to me people had assumed that was likely and my view was different. It'll happen in the future that sort of thing or maybe of one pops up and nobody else fancies the player at that time. We were asked for one thing and it was patience.. No problem.
If their recruitment team is getting praised then in theory Ours needs praised too. We identified these players ages ago. Coutinho always looked like he would stay. Carlos was desperate to get out of Seville in Jan once we showed our hand - We were jerked about by their owner and have quite rightly ****ed off from him and I'd be surprised if we did any business with him ever - this includes the other centre back we're linked with Jules Kounde (By far the better of the 2). Kamara - We were interested in whilst Bruce was here. We seem to have moved on tactically from where he would have fitted in for us, using a more creative deep lying playmaker in the holding role rather than a DCM (he more a centre half) Not saying anyone they have signed is poor, I think they'll improve Villa and they will suit Gerrard's plans better than they would ours. I have doubts regarding the aggressive way and sometimes dumb as **** choices Carlos makes but he might look like a MENSA genius compared to some of our lot. I'm just not understanding people wetting the bed (not people on here on about Twitter) when the window isn't open.
I'm not particularly interested in whether our recruitment team gets praise. The context of our conversation was you claiming villa aren't ahead of Newcastle at this stage. They are mate I was only reading about their recruitment set up the other day and that was just one thing they've done since their takeover off the pitch. I'm not downplaying the bright future nufc has because eventually nufc will be the next galacticos, but the fact is it'll take years to correct the **** mike Ashley left behind. It's exciting to me and I expect another window much like January which is great. We don't need Nunez or Paqueta at this stage anyway. It would cost our entire budget and some. They need 4 or 5 it's a squad game. The bed wetters we can't stop mate they expect everything to happen overnight.. We don't.. I hope we do spend big bit I just see all the evidence points against it.
I still reckon he could, but the three things that stuck with me was 1) His position is the last place needing attention at present and 2) A deal needs to be reached with Lyon's notoriously difficult president. 3) He never set Serie A alight. If he does sign it will prove that we do in fact have a 2nd kitty for "big names". Window's not open so let's see what happens come August.
