The utter ****storm descending On Lille may well have thrown things with regards any remaining (If Any) interest in Carlos as it's them and his reps that have gone back peddling to NUFC by all accounts. Fully expecting a load of stories to come out about Jonathan David n all if there not already being mentioned on Twitter.

To clarify something. Lille finished 10th in Ligue 1 but we're rumoured to be hankering after a CB and forward of theirs? I hope they're better than I worry they may be. Carlos is much older but undoubtedly proven at a higher lvl.

I have no idea what David is like as a forward. I do know that Botman would make Lascelles look like Usain Bolt in his prime.

If someone can correct me feel free to jump in but from what I can gather Lille and numerous other French and Italian clubs have got some very very murky transfers under investigation.

For example

Oshimen to Napoli - reported as £70m.

When looking at it deeper £20m of this was made up of 4 young players not worth a reported combined £350k but reported as being worth £20m towards the deal. With something like £30m ever exchanging hands or being banked by Lille suggesting there is either a fudging of FFP and or somebody somewhere has their hands in the cookie jar.
 
Just to put it out there that the day started with a private jet landing in Newcastle from Birmingham.
