Who would you buy and sell in January? I personally hope we DON'T spend £75m again. Sell: Kalou, Ferreira, one of either Bosingwa/Ivanovic/Alex - I rate all three I just think we need to move onto new pastures in defence. Can't see any being sold except maybe for Alex. Buy: A playmaker, was clear we needed one in summer and we failed on the Modric saga, maybe try him again. Mata can't do it all on his own. A centre half and a right back, I'd go for Cahill/Subotic and Van Der Wiel. A right winger, I have no idea who but I personally would like Adam Johnson here.
Sell : Bosingwa, Kalou, Drogba,Malouda,Anelka,Mikel. Buy : Pereira, Cahill, Van Der Wiel, Modric,Hazard/Hulk
If were serious about changing the style of our play then we have to get rid of all the players suited to the old style of play in january or the end of season which involves Drogba,Anelka,Kalou,Mikel. Bosingwa is just **** and Ferreriras 35 so were hardly going to sell him and his still useful anyway as back up. I'd rather we get Hazard over Hulk aswell because Hazard at RW would suit our style of play and have Sturridge as back up striker to torres, didn't think much of Lukaku today looked very weak, his only 18 though he just needs some trips to the gym and a loan move in january
I said not spend £75m . It will only mount unnecessary pressure on ourselves and the players bought.
Cech-VDW/Ivanovic ( Ivanovic for big games, VDW for the **** games where we will be looking for all out attack ), Cahill,Luiz/Terry, A.cole/Pereira, Ramires/Meireles/Lampard,Modric/Josh,Romeu, Mata, Torres/Sturridge, Hazard/Sturridge, would be a very good future looking team
Are we able to ship Lukaku out on loan in Jan? I would do that for half of the season then maybe the whole season after and alternate Torres and Sturridge in the lone striker position. Sturridge is brilliant on the right, he just loses his powers in the big games (well only two this season). I feel Studge would be a brilliant lone striker in the formation we play.
Sell- Kalou - deserves a move he's not even bench warming here anymore. Malouda - properly useless and old. Bosingwa - poor defensively and not showing us what he did in the first games. Loan- Lukaku McEachran Betrand Worth Keeping- Drogba - needs to wake up but could have a good final season. Anelka - why people would want to sell him beats me. So versatile and works well. Mikel - our most consistent player. Very good back up. Buy- Subotic - young, quick feet and intelligent. Good foil for Luiz in the future. Moutinho - great midfielder, working with AVB and doesn't come with a 40mil price tag.... De Bruyne - young, looked good against us when he got the ball. Perierra - Cole needs back up, an this guy is meant to be beastly, and we already went for him. Ideal Line Up - Cech Ivan - Subotic - Terry - Cole Rami - Miereles - Mountinho Anelka - Torres - Mata Subs - Luiz - Lampard - Romeu - De Bruyne - Perierra - Sturridge - Drogba. Also, Piazon and Essien should be available.
I'd seriously go for Pato in january aswell, Torres is worrying me again, really didn't look good today, hopefully he can get back to scoring ways vs genk tuesday though
In all fairness, all the passes to him were either over hit, under hit or an elaborate combination of the two.
It's a bit too early to begin advocating a full-scale firesale of the team. When we get through November I think we'll have a better sense of what changes should be made. And I think there will be some.
It is well too early mate but we do need to correct the issues before our season goes tits up and we end up in a fight for 4th
Oh, I agree we have issues to correct. It's just the inevitable complaining about wanting change now if we start talking about buying and selling on this scale this early. If you're building for the future you don't do it in one transfer window.
Varier--That side of yours looked good to me! Bosingwa is the man who should be sold on. Personally I am mystified why Ferrera, who has always been reliable in DEFENDING! has not put him on the bench ages ago!
Ancelotti killed him off last season when he was played at centre back against Sunderland. That did ruin his reputation.
Ok, Rangers fan in peace, but with a question that's probably going to cause a ****storm of abuse for me.... Do you need to buy in a replacement for JT, because the last couple of games he's not looked like the sort of player he was last season. I don't know if he had his injuries sorted out in the summer (I think he was playing hurt for some of last season?) or if they're still bothering him, or if father time is catching him up. Don't get me wrong, he's still a great player, but I think that as with Rio in Manchester, his days of playing at the peak of the Prem might be numbered. And before anyone says anything, I know he'd walk into our team - hell, he could be selected in 8 positions over our current players. Wouldn't trust him on the wing or in goal though!
