44 years ago today, Swansea 8 - 0 Hartlepool with Curt and Robbie getting hat-tricks. I know coz I was there - I didn’t have a game that day so was able to go.
Thatcher's vanity project. Blood on her grubby hands. Kept her in power, which was the main objective. The current conflict in Ukraine will doubtless achieve the same result for Johnson, even though he hasn't orchestrated it. The Russians couldn't have invaded at a better time for the corrupt P.M.
You are probably correct re Johnson, but don’t forget what happened to Boris’ hero (Churchill) in the General Election after WW2
One can but hope. The only problem is, who will replace the ass.ole. Labour would just be a change in colour.
Dai had a blinder in that game but the memorable moment for me was watching right in front of us as Brian Thomas held his ground as burly Lyn Jones the Cardiff wing tried to run through Brian. There was only going to be one winner
Two Alan Curtis goals - a day short of his 24th birthday - edge a top-of-the-table clash with Brentford at the Vetch on this afternoon in 1978. The 2-1 win saw Tosh's Swans leapfrog the Bees into 3rd place, with just a fortnight of the season remaining. I know coz I was there!
Born this day in Swansea in 1947 - Pete Ham. Lead singer with Badfinger. He also co-wrote Harry Nilsson’s number one hit I Can’t Live (If Living Is Without You)
I bought my first hi fi system from his brother, John, who had a shop on Walters Road. I was unsure of what to go for, and he was very helpful, and accommodating. He loaded a stack system into his vehicle, drove me to my home in Gowerton, set the system up, and left everything in trust. " Have a good listen ", he told me. " No obligation to buy if you are not satisfied ". A week later I went back to his shop and paid him. What a great guy he was. And a damn good salesman.
