I still want Webber to go, though, and that is not just an emotional reaction during this game. IMO he's served his purpose. The improvements he has made to the club in terms of infrastructure and finance are deeply rooted now, and I think we should look for a Sporting Director who is more focused on the job in hand.

EDIT: And to be honest, I wish we still had Farke. Could this season have been much worse if we had kept him?

It's not that I don't feel the pain, but I have no doubt that if Delia had the wealth of the Newcastle owners, we'd be the greatest club ever.

This is the thing though. This season this is what the new owners spent/bought:

Trippier - 12m bargain
Wood - £25m been dross for us. Can't score a goal for love nor money.
Bruno - £35m..... WORLD CLASS but didnt play for weeks when we signed him because we where already winning games.
Taggart - £0 loan fee from Villa
Burn - £12m bargain

I wouldn't say any are galacticos.

And that is the thing. We won't be signing them either because we have to play within the FFP rules.

I think there is a big difference to be honest - your previous owner made a mockery of the club and I had huge sympathy for the Geordie fans who wanted him out and just about anyone was better than him, especially if they had pots of cash. By contrast, we have an owner who genuinely loves the club and does her best, but wants to balance the books as she simply has no cash - poorest owners in the top two or three divisions, something like that. Would I exchange that for a rich owner? If they loved the club just as much, of course, in an instant. If they didn’t care about the club and it was about profile? It would be a different and more challenging question. We are a proper family run club. We’ve had our time in Europe and at the top of the Premier League many years ago, but we don’t pretend to be that level or expect it.

Mate honestly i have a massive soft spot for your club. Truly, i grew up playing football with Grant Holt when i was a kid so i always kept an eye out for you guys.

And yes the club is brilliant and truly should be admired.

Actually if you knew why they bought us you would realise that its purely investment only... The potential for redevelopment for Newcastle is huge and the city has been massively hit with unemployment and problems because of a lack of investment.

They recognise that as a city we are mad about football and by buying us, and investing in the city its a win win for them and us.
