In defence of Elder. He is not Fleming but he was decent today barring that mis hit back pass. Which he did remarkably well to get back and clear the danger with a diving header off the toes of the forward who only had to side foot the ball into an empty net. That was brave defending by any stretch of the imagination.Longman - our best attacking player
Baxter - stopped a cricket score at one stage
Smallwood - my MotM for first half. Unlucky with clearance that rebounded for goal but should he have got some height on it?
Until their first it was pretty even.
Sub par performances from KLP (missed Fleming so much and did nothing), Elder (nearly gave a goal away and not a patch on Fleming going forward), Honeyman (looked tired and outmuscled throughout) and McLoughlin (weak for second goal and his worst game for a while).
Shota should have got the subs on sooner. Eaves and Coyle really improved us.
Always going to be rusty too after such a long time not playing regular. In defence of Elder. He is not Fleming but he was decent today barring that mis hit back pass. It was very brave and not without some skill, he could have easily conceded a penaltyIn defence of Elder. He is not Fleming but he was decent today barring that mis hit back pass. But it was his own mistake. I thought we looked massively weaker on that side minus Fleming. It was very brave and not without some skill, he could have easily conceded a penalty
I agree on both your points but it was still a brave and skilful challenge to recover. But it was his own mistake. I thought we looked massively weaker on that side minus Fleming.
