Nor a pleasurable one. I think others sometimes think that people who think a coach has taken the team as far as he can are somehow revelling in the situation. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I'm glad it's not my decision. I vote yes but only by a gnat's whisker. I don't really have the proper professional knowledge to make such a call and I'm absolutely certain I don't have all the confidential info that the board have which they will take into account. Most of the issues that have plagued our season - poor defending at times, poor finishing and injuries - all stem from the financial constraints. I don't believe a new manager will change that. However, if switching manager would mean no more long losing runs, that would sway my vote away from Warbs. Either way COYRsss!
I just think that, with rare exceptions like Ferguson, Klopp and perhaps Guardiola, the first team coach gets stale after a bit and needs shifting on - Mourinho classic example. And Warbs isn’t quite in that class.
I think the Club is well ready to take the £180 million or whatever huge amount it is we would get if we got into the PL, We'd probably surprise a few without spending too much of that strengthening which would be great, but come back down again with Parachute payments if they still have them and be in a much stronger position to go up again. I think as well that the style of play we have usually had with Warburton may suit us better in the PL. We wouldnt have to play the likes of Peterborough and Barnsley.
Just can't see why it would have been thrown deliberately when the prize money for finishing BOTTOM of the PL was £91m for the Blades last season!
I’d agree with you Sb. Every manager/coach seems to be in the cross-hairs and his time comes eventually. They all have a timeline - the smart ones move on, but they are very rare. I can’t imagine every manager thinks he’s on for a 10 year career at a club.
I went for yes to give him another season & don’t trust the board to get the right manager in to replace him, he’s done ok & yes made big errors which he’s not admitted to, i e Jan window tactics & subs, if he stays I hope he can look back & say to himself & should’ve done this & that different
Another thread to regurgitate the same **** over and over ! Everyone on here knows where everyone else stands on this matter, so this is just pointless. Quite simply he will never ever get us promoted, the whole point is to have ambition and take your club as far as it can possibly go. It's down to the board to have some vision and balls and appoint a young manager with the right ideas and tactical acumen. Whether they do I very much doubt, but it's the oy way forward for us as a club. I can't see us being sustainable in this league for much longer averaging 10k at home every game.
So now please sort the political thread, then finally win the word association thread and we can shut this forum down. Thank you “the all knowing oracle”
I'm not sure how you can say "he will never get us promoted". If circumstances had been slightly more favourable in terms of injuries then we would possibly still be in the top six and Warburton would have had every chance on getting us promoted. I'm not suggesting that he is the Messiah or anything, but the club is on a gradual build, granted this season looks like a missed opportunity, but if we persevere, I'm sure that another opportunity will present itself (maybe not in 2023), but positivity is infectious.
Like I said , the same regurgitated ****. Anyone that doesn't agree with your views and has some foresight and wants the club to progress to better things is a knowall. Only time will tell but if I'm wrong I'll come on here and say it. Will you ? We both know the answer
Because he has no previous of getting anyone promoted ! Positivity is infectious yes, but so is a losing mentality. He simply doesn't possess the tools to be top manager, he is a decent coach, they are 2 totally different things.
Just because someone has never achieved something doesn't make it impossible providing he learns from past mistakes.
And you think he has ? Stints at various other clubs would tend to show he hasn't. It's all rather academic as I think the board have already made up their mind. Don't know what their decision is but I don't think the last few games are gonna alter it one way or another.
