Match Preview from the official site;
QPR quickly return to action tomorrow afternoon, as Mark Warburton’s side welcome Derby County to Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium for this Sky Bet Championship clash (3pm KO).
Of course, this quickly comes off the back of Friday’s resilient 2-2 away draw with Huddersfield Town, a game which saw strikes from Luke Amos and Ilias Chair sealing a share of the spoils for the R’s.
But, because of the busy Easter period attentions now quickly switch to west London and the visit of the Rams who themselves will be desperate for points as we reach the final few games of the 2021/22 campaign.
However, just like the Super Hoops Wayne Rooney’s side will head to W12 full of confidence following their Good Friday victory over league leaders Fulham and will certainly trouble the R’s as we look to finish the season on a couple of positive notes.
Team News:
QPR: Jordan Archer, David Marshall, Seny Dieng, Rob Dickie and Chris Willock will miss out for the R’s, with Lee Wallace a doubt.
Derby County: Max Bird misses out through suspension, Colin Kazim-Richards will miss out through injury, whilst Ravel Morrison will be assessed ahead of the trip.
Pre-match talk:
Mark Warburton (QPR Manager): “ “I am expecting a good, quality, high-energy game against a dangerous opponent. We have to be ready for the challenge, it’s as simple as that.
“We have to build on what we did at Huddersfield. We can’t have a flat, lacklustre, leggy performance. We have to be on the front foot and hopefully deliver the three points.”
Wayne Rooney (Derby County Manager): “The lads have quality, a lot of them are young too, but they’re good characters and a desire to work hard and fight for this club.
“We must follow up all the good work and another home win by trying to get a win away from home. It won’t be easy, Queens Park Rangers are a good side, but we will give it a real go to try and get the three points.”
