Of course, this quickly comes off the back of Friday’s resilient 2-2 away draw with Huddersfield Town, a game which saw strikes from Luke Amos and Ilias Chair sealing a share of the spoils for the R’s. But, because of the busy Easter period attentions now quickly switch to west London and the visit of the Rams who themselves will be desperate for points as we reach the final few games of the 2021/22 campaign. However, just like the Super Hoops Wayne Rooney’s side will head to W12 full of confidence following their Good Friday victory over league leaders Fulham and will certainly trouble the R’s as we look to finish the season on a couple of positive notes. Team News: QPR: Jordan Archer, David Marshall, Seny Dieng, Rob Dickie and Chris Willock will miss out for the R’s, with Lee Wallace a doubt. Derby County: Max Bird misses out through suspension, Colin Kazim-Richards will miss out through injury, whilst Ravel Morrison will be assessed ahead of the trip. Pre-match talk: Mark Warburton (QPR Manager): “ “I am expecting a good, quality, high-energy game against a dangerous opponent. We have to be ready for the challenge, it’s as simple as that. “We have to build on what we did at Huddersfield. We can’t have a flat, lacklustre, leggy performance. We have to be on the front foot and hopefully deliver the three points.” Wayne Rooney (Derby County Manager): “The lads have quality, a lot of them are young too, but they’re good characters and a desire to work hard and fight for this club. “We must follow up all the good work and another home win by trying to get a win away from home. It won’t be easy, Queens Park Rangers are a good side, but we will give it a real go to try and get the three points.”
Hammersmith and City Line is closed on Monday, I think. It’s a shame Rooney isn’t playing, one of the best footballers I’ve ever seen playing against us a few years ago. Cheers Dave.
Yep. Watched him at Loftus Road completely and utterly running the game from start to finish. That's one of the great things about promotion imo, getting to see world class players up close at Loftus Road.
Having got used to losing against **** teams over the last few weeks I think I could bear losing to some of the best teams in the world for a bit.
My favourite Rooney moment was a couple of years ago, when he tried a ridiculous cross-field pass that we intercepted and scored from.
Watching WRDC v Fulham and I have to say the WRDC are playing really well, they won't be any pushover on Monday.........
They have played with unbelievable spirit all season although their away form has been very poor. No doubt we'll try our best to address that problem !
Cheers Dave. Some shocking players in that list of yours. Also some greats for us in Stevie Wicks, Masson, Goddard, and Gregory. Memories! Talking of memories … 2014! Really … eight years ago. Only feels like a couple of years ago. They’ll certainly be full of confidence after last night. Bottom beats top. Shocker.
Lol true, but to be fair he didn't wear the Hoops ! Can't believe he was 3rd choice keeper behind Green at one stage and sat in the crowd. Sums up that phase of our history !
And they’d be above Cardiff in 17th spot if they hadn’t lost 21 points… it’s on Bein3 here, so will watch at midnight. URssss
