I've been to Hull and Back
I'm here all week folks.
The history of Hull is quite interesting, especially as strictly speaking there is no such place. It's pretty much a '**** you' to anyone that thinks they're going to be the 'authority' here.
It was a collection of Hamlets, such as Wyke, Myton, Sculcoates, Drypool, when the King decided he'd 'honour' us by granting a market, and calling us "The City and County of Kingston, upon the River Hull" which was met with a call of '**** off knob head'. Subsequently, all statues of Royals are placed over the Public ****houses.
As previous groups of soldiers had been driven out, one King decided he need to instill order, so sent his troops in, but got called away, and left strict instruction that the townsfolk must make sure that the soldiers are still there when he returns, or risk dire consequences.
When he returned, life was normal, but he couldn't see the soldiers, so the townsfolk led him to the citadel, where he could find his soldiers all neat, present and correct, nailed to the wall.
