In unrelated news: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-60995125 Cocaine worth £302m has been discovered in Southampton. That massive nose is useful for something, I guess.
He probably should have checked his own Twitter bio before posting that... please log in to view this image
He did. Check it now. He's deleted all mention of RT and Sputnik. Unfortunately for him there's loads of proof that he's full of ****. This, for example: please log in to view this image
He taints left, right and centre. He's like some sort of omni-pollutant. Shameful and shameless in equal measure.
Thinking about the Chancellor's wife's non-dom status I just wanted to make a general point. She is valued at about half a billion so how much will tax hit her net wealth? The point is that people who go out of their way to avoid* tax are the people who can most afford to pay the tax. I know that if I ever earned or by finding some magic lamp had that much money, I would be more than happy to pay tax because I would be more than rich enough. And of course those with the most money can afford to hire the experts needed to minimise their tax exposure. In fact, part of the money they are saving they are spending on these experts! As an anecdote I remember in between careers I worked decades ago in the private finance department of one of the big accountancy firms. It was bad enough then so has got to be far worse now. Basically they were saving tax by offshoring private wealth into companies that effectively didn't exist. But to fulfill the requirements of appearing to exist they were producing minutes for the companies for meetings that never happened, naming attendees who were never there. This was a major firm that you've all heard of, and apparently what they were doing was perfectly normal practice. * I always get avoidance and evasion mixed up. Sorry if I've used the wrong one. Both are rather despicable at this level of avoidance.
Once you are educated with the "tax gap" report and by those more ITK (are members of accounting/HMRC working groups etc) , you : 1. realise immediately that tax avoidance, available to a few as it is, is by far a lesser tax evil at both national and individual level 2. start asking very inconvenient/uncomfortable questions to the powers that be (regardless of the "colours" of the govt of the time)
It's worth noting that Rishi Sunak's wife doesn't havea Wikipedia page Let me guess, just like Theresa May's father it was deemed not in the public interest, yet Sunak's brother-in-law has a page as if he's important...
Once again the Tory plans for mandatory voter ID have been slapped down in the Lords, and it's telling that only walking effluent sees this as a bad thing
Once a (Tory) ****, always a (Tory) ****! FFS - do these twats ever think before opening their mouths? Well, in Pickles case I'm guessing not, otherwise he would also not be 300kgs!
