It's been said before but the January loan signings have clearly upset the balance and mentality of the squad. This, coupled with Warburton's dogmatic approach to cycling the squad and, in particular, resting players based on back room evaluations rather than player enthusiasm has been our downfall IMO. Generally, it's hard to see how we can go forward next season without finding at least a couple of reliable strikers and tactics that allow midfielders to play through balls on the odd occasion.
High time Hoos put our singing support together in the Loft. I understand ( maybe wrongly) the safe standing plan will split that support between the Ellersley corner and the S.Africa Rd side of the Loft with the Family stand inbetween.
I sit at the top of the Loft, behind the goal. It’s not a singing section. That’s all in R block and perhaps X Block in Ellerslie. The Loft (apologies to my colleagues who sit there) is a little geriatric (myself included) nowadays. We do a lot of great swearing though.
Geriatrics like me sing and shout because we often have bad hearing, especially having grown up with best loud rock and roll.... can"t you hear? Well you probably did at that Chelsea game back in September 2011 think it was
Happy birthday Grandpa. From a 61 and a bit year old. I was up in your part of the world last couple of days, the Toon. Man I love that town, more on every visit.
Thinking back to the January transfer window, maybe we should've asked Newcastle to loan us Dwight Gayle instead of Jeff Hendrick. He's only played five times for them this season and was an unused sub today.
Oh well, it's just a number mate. I turned fifty six last week. I still wouldn't want to be a twenty year old in this day and age, even if I had the choice.

Just a thought .... Don't sign any AFCON players and don't sign any players involved in games in the America's Caribbean, ( not sure what that division is called. )
What were their derogatory chants? And yes, for all our decrying them as plastic Ruperts, they outsang us.
So we don't sign any players who might play for an African or Caribbean country. Getting into very dangerous country here 999s. And also Extend that we don't sign any players who might progress to being an international Absolutely no.. a not very good idea at all. Sorry
No, can't agree with this. Also, I'd suggest that we did brilliantly when our players were at the AFCON. It's the management since they returned that's been the problem, although listening to some on here you'd think Warburton has kept us in third position, as opposed to relegation form.
Poetic licence. Nobody has ever said anything that could remotely indicate that. Results have been poor and some performances very poor. The difference in opinion is that some of us are looking at this as a work in progress. Sure there was a chance that having done much better than we all believed possible for 2/3 of the season we had a false and unrealistic prospect of promotion for a few weeks. We are all disappointed. But over a season or three have we improved and the answer surely is yes. Are we the finished article? Not at all. It may be we can never make that final tweak unless the owners release the purse strings. But as we all know having been there and done that, it's a very risky strategy. Break the bank to get into the play offs. And then we lose. Are we any further forward? Will some still clamour for a change of manager and more investment? You bet.
