After WC 2018 were freely dishing out penalties for defender Judo,
I thought the domestic leagues would (beneficially) follow suit.

I am lenient on officials perhaps not seeing the events in
real time, but that is one thing VAR should excel at.

But after the VAR fest to give the Toon that penalty at WHL,
and nothing given for this one, tis hard not to echo the

When Robertson did the exact same against Tanganga, it never got a second mention and was swiftly swept under the carpet and disappeared down the big black hole of Pool favouritism.

We now have a close title race, the failure to give Milner a clear second yellow card in the Pool v City game (just one of many instances of Pool bias) is looking more and more crucial by the day, that pathetic bottling of a decision created a probable 3 point swing and brought Pool 3 points closer to City. I wonder how many extra and undeserved points the officials gift Pool every season (the same can be said about Penited, but they are so crap they are nowhere near a title race).

It appears in every big game (or when they need it), Pool get a leg up from the officials, for example Mane let off clear red cards for elbows and forearm smashes v Arsenal and Chelsea at key points in the game, Milner let off a clear second yellow card v City at a key point in the game, Keita let off a clear red card in the cup final, numerous dodgy penalties and dodgy toenail offsides going their way, etc etc.

How likely does everyone think it is Everton will go down? As I type this, Michael Keane has been sent off for a second yellow (he is an atrocious player) and they're 2-1 down to West Ham.

In no order, their remaining fixtures I can see are: Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Brentford, Leicester (x2), Burnley, Watford and Palace.

My gut feeling is they will stay up by the skin of their teeth, as I think Burnley and Watford are worse. However, every time I expect them to get some positive results under their belt, they proceed to drop points.

They will be heavily reliant on their form at Goodison Park IMO, as they can't buy a win away from home.

The things going in their favour are their two games in hand over Watford (who are 18th) and they still have enough home games to get points - as they can't buy a win away, and their home form is relatively OK.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them relegated, but I think they will just do enough to stay in the division.

It's still utterly embarrassing that, with all the investment in coaches and playing staff under Moshiri, they are this bad. At the very least, they should be a solid midtable side. They can't even do that.

Four games against top 4 hopeulst, two "6 pointers" against fellow relegation candidates.

Whatever happens, it is going to be a very painful few weeks for Everton supporters.

Burnley and Watford are showing a lot more fight (or competence...) but what could seal Everton's fate is their run-in seems harsher

In some ways I'd feel bad for them, after all Everton also know the pain of having a bunch of red-shirted cuckoos shack up on their doorstep

Yeh right, of course it all evens itself out. Every team has key decisions that go for and against, but the problem is, 90% of officials will always give Varpool and Penited the benefit of doubt, hence why the key dodgy decisions benefitting these two clubs far outweigh those going against them. I mean, most referees blatantly refuse to send off players from these two clubs for a start.

I can't see Watford leapfrogging them especially due to the games in hand.

Burnley are the key as they have by far the easier run-in: Everton, Norwich, West Ham, Soton, Wolves, Watford, Villa, Spurs, Newcastle.

They play each other next at Turd Moor which no question is a crucial game which will probably be atrocious because neither side will want to lose. I can see Burnley edging it and in all honesty I can also see Everton failing to win their next 5 games.

My heart wants Burnley to drop as they are a bunch of ****s who play **** football. But my head wants Everton gone as it will in some way vindicate our approach in trying to earn success over the years rather than buying it.
