I was fearing the worse, and to wake up at 2.30 am with a bit of trepidation, wasn't the feeling I wanted, that was dispelled very quickly. Of cause, the early goal helps, but what impressed me the most, and something I often criticised Mc Cann for, was the team as a whole didn't work as a unit. The team moved forward as a unit and went back as a unit, minimizing the distance between the defence/midfield/attack. We looked much more solid, and this has obviously come from Shota and his staff on the training ground.
The back 3 was immense as was Ingram, Jones has come back and performed very well, McLoughlin is just a rock, and Greaves is getting better every game.
I really liked Slater and Smallwood together. Slater is a better footballer than Docherty, and it was noticeable that our shape suffered when Slater went off and Docherty came on. Docherty doesn't keep in shape he runs around chasing the ball all over the park, and that disrupts the balance.
I thought Honeyman was also very good, and much more like his old self. Both Fleming and Longman did their jobs, and Longman can always come up with a goal now and then.
Eaves had a really good game, put himself about and held the ball up well. KLP sometimes makes the wrong decisions, he still has a lot to learn, but nevertheless had a good game.
All in all a great away performance, 3 points, and a clean sheet, what's not to like.
